Chapter 108
Before she could finish explaining, the taxi stopped short. The two of them were so focused on talking that they were not on
guard at all. Their bodies jerked forward aggressively. This road was built along the coast. Although it had double intermediaries,
it was not very wide. An off-road vehicle rushed out diagonally and was about to hit the taxi. The driver quickly braked but when
he made a turn, he went in the opposite direction and directly crashed through the guardrail on one side!
Outside the guardrail was a rising tide.
“Ava!”
Selden who was following the taxi stopped at once. He watched as the taxi fell into the sea.
Soon, the car sank down quickly. Selden did not care about anything else and quickly followed suit. He then jumped into the sea.
The taxi driver was good at swimming. He managed to unbuckle his seat belt and swam out of the driver’s seat. Without any
hesitation, he opened the door for Ava and Kelly. However, neither of them knew how to swim. Selden was not good at
swimming either. When he swam over with great effort, he only saw Kelly flopping on the surface of the sea. He quickly grabbed
Kelly’s arm. When he was going to look for Ava, he accidentally choked on seawater. His eyes were painful and blurry. Out of the
corner of his eye, he saw a man got off a vehicle and jumped in instantly. Kelly, who didn’t know how to swim at all, held onto
whatever she could and she wouldn’t let go.
“Stop moving! If you move again, both of us will die!” Selden shouted.

The taxi driver caught them in time. Finally, he was able to drag them to the shore. Kelly gasped and ignored the seawater that
she swallowed as she continued hitting Selden, “Are you crazy? You can’t even swim properly, so how would you save anyone!”
Due to her shock, her face was filled with a mixture of tears and seawater. “I wasn’t trying to save you,” Selden said coldly. He

then walked towards the sea.
Ava...she was nowhere to be found at this point...
He staggered and fell to the ground. Kelly put her arms around his legs and refused to let him go back. “Let go of me!” “No!
You’re going to die!” Earlier when they were in the sea, she knew Selden’s poor swimming skill. If it weren’t for the driver, both of
them would be dead by now.
But he was still being stubborn! “Ava is still in the sea! Let me go!” Selden kicked her away and dived into the sea again.
However, the rising tide had already drowned the taxi. In the vast ocean, how could Ava be found so easily?
Once again, he was pushed to the shallow area by the waves. Because he choked on too much water, he had already lost his
strength. The fishermen nearby noticed that there was an accident and they had gone out to the sea to help out. Unfortunately,
the tide was really dangerous, so it was not easy to look for someone at this time. In the end, they couldn’t find her. Gradually,
the sky had completely darkened. The tides finally receded. On the beach, there were only bits of seashells left. Ava had once

again disappeared in the sea. It was the same as half a year ago.
At that time, Selden was lucky to find her. What about this time?
“Ava! Ava Nagel! Come back! Please...”
Selden was dragged out of the sea by the fishermen. In order to prevent him from jumping into the sea again, they tied him to the
coconut tree by the shore. “Let go of me! Kelly, untie the rope!” He shouted. His wrist turned red from the friction with the rope.
He couldn’t get away no matter what! “Even if you hate me, I won’t let you die for nothing,” said Kelly.’ Selden groaned and
roared aggressively, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t get out of the rope. Ava fell into the sea right in front of his
eyes, and yet he couldn’t do a single thing. The fishermen called the professional rescue team. Afterward, more than a dozen
rescue boats came to help.
It seemed like the scene at the jetty six months ago. Could he find her again this time, just like how he did half a year ago?
“Please, let go of me, let me go and look for her...” Selden kept shouting.

As for Kelly, she rushed to the beach and anxiously looked at the situation of the rescue.
After a long time, there was still no news. The sky finally darkened, making it even more difficult for the rescue team to search. It
was nearly impossible at this point. Kelly staggered back to Selden’s side. Finally, she untied the ropes with trembling hands.
“What is it? Say something!” Selden held her shoulder tightly as his fingers were close to digging into her skin.
“The men in the rescue team...said that... there’s no hope in finding her...” She sobbed with tears all over her face.
“That’s bullsh*t!”
Selden immediately stood up and ran to the beach, but he stumbled and fell on the sand on his way. Kelly hugged his leg and
wouldn’t let him go no matter how hard he tried. “It’s no use. You won’t be able to find her even if you jump into the sea... She’s
already...” Screams of despair echoed around the beach as Selden stared at the sea in disbelief. He suddenly burst into
laughter. “Selden, don’t be rash. I beg you, please don’t...” Kelly cried and crawled to his side. “Get the f*ck out of my way!” He
pushed her away and tried to walk to the sea.
“It was because you saved me that you didn’t have time to save Ava. Then you should kill me! Use my life in exchange for hers!”
“If that was possible, I would do it in a heartbeat.”
She stared at him in a daze.
Although his words were hurtful, it was not the first time he said it.
But no matter how many times she heard it, she still couldn’t help feeling hurt. “Selden Oakley... You b*stard!”
By the time Damien reached the area where the accident happened, it was already morning the next day.
He was too late.
Although he had rushed here in desperation after receiving the news, he still didn’t make it in time.
Losing her once was painful enough. God had given him one more chance to protect her, yet he still failed. It was the fate that he

must suffer.
“You’re lying to me, aren’t you?” Damien suddenly let out a cold laugh upon looking down at Selden who was lying on the shore.
Selden raised his head and stared at him. “Yes, I lied to you, that’s true. But I wish I could lie to you this time.”
When Damien’s fist landed on Selden’s face, he didn’t even try to avoid it. Instead, he just let the force hit him as he rolled on the
sand. Damien’s hands clenched into fists and landed punches on Selden one after another.
Damien used to be calm and poised. The last time he had gone mad was at her funeral.
But this time, he received news of her death for the second time.
