Chapter 4280 The Breakthrough
The fire unicorn gazed blankly at Kai. Despite the disdain in its eyes, it found itself helplessly drawn towards him,
gently nuzzling against him.
Though the fire unicorn wasn’t satisfied to have a mere Tribulator as its master, it didn’t have a choice since the
Celestial Devourer was lurking nearby, eyeing it like prey.
Kai stroked the fire unicorn, his heart brimming with joy. Having the fire unicorn as his mount meant he had
gained another ally.
Even without the airship, Kai could now ride the fire unicorn anywhere. He no longer needed to deplete his
spiritual energy.
However, this fire unicorn was still too small, and Kai had no idea how many resources it would take to fully raise
it. Just one Celestial Devourer was a nuisance for him. Many things were devoured by it, and now, he had to feed
the fire unicorn, too.

Kai's cultivation demanded an immense amount of resources—far more than those needed by the other
Tribulators. With three major expenditures looming over him, he found himself pondering where he could
possibly gather enough resources.
Given the situation, he realized he had no choice but to take things one step at a time. If worse cto worst,
he would have to compete with other cultivators for what little resources were available. In the Ethereal Realm,
hard and fast rules were virtually nonexistent; it was a brutal world where the strong preyed upon the weak.
While he considered targeting sprestigious families to seize their resources, he had yet to fully convince
himself to take that route.
After safely storing the fire unicorn and the Celestial Devourer in his Storage Ring, Kai exited that dimension. As
he stepped out, the dimension shattered in an instant, disappearing completely along with the array runes
etched into the ground.
With the fire unicorn now in his Storage Ring, the spirit beasts visibly calmed, their earlier fear and agitation
fading away.
It seemed that this fire unicorn was the cause of the spirit beasts’ alarm, which then led to their illness.
He knew that after a few days of recuperation, they would fully recover.
Returning to his room, he found himself surrounded by piles of resources. Only then did he feel ready to immerse
himself in his cultivation.
With his eyes gently closed, Kai activated the Focus Technique. A powerful surge of spiritual energy flooded into
his body, though he couldn't tell how much thad passed.
He felt a faint tremor coursing through him as streaks of golden light erupted from the room, piercing the cloud-
laden sky. The scene was so striking that it resembled the ominous foreboding of the world’s end.
“Looks like Mr. Chance is on the verge of a breakthrough,” Dylan remarked, his eyes fixed on the sky, now thick
with tribulation clouds.
“It's just a minor breakthrough, yet it has triggered such a powerful lightning tribulation. No wonder Kai, even as
a mere Sixth-Level Tribulator, can stand toe-to-toe with experts from the Ultimate Realm,” Hartwin marveled,

“How many days has it been?” Bernard asked, his tone edged with disbelief.
“Five days, King Bernard,” Ezequiel replied.
“In just five days, he’s managed a breakthrough. Though it’s only a minor advancement, the magnitude of this
event rivals that of a Top-Level Tribulator’s breakthrough,” Bernard gasped, astonished.
“King Bernard, General Quivey has reported that we've successfully reclaimed Imperial Fox City. The Foster
family has been eradicated. However, this action has drawn the attention of the Demon Seal Alliance, and
General Quivey suspects they may retaliate. He remains cautious, fearing the Alliance might target Imperial Fox
City, so he and his forces are currently stationed there. He plans to return only after Mr. Chance goes there.”
Ezequiel knew that Bernard's inquiry about the twasn’t solely out of curiosity regarding Kai’s cultivation
speed. The command to wipe out the Foster family within five days had already been given, and failure to
execute it would have severe consequences.
Though Bernard appeared harmless, polite, and amiable to everyone, he was known for his fairness and strict
adherence to his orders. It was this balance of justice and authority that enabled him to govern Allardland so
effectively.
