Chapter 1503 Why Didn’t You Tell Me?
Tessa was astonished. "I had another child before I married you, and you don't care?"
The instant Nicholas noticed his wife's cranky expression, he decided to stop teasing her.
"To be honest, I've known about it for a long time."
"You knew?" She was absolutely gob-smacked. Then again, considering his ability and
influence, she abruptly realized that it would have been easy for him to discover her
secret. Hence, her emotions suddenly became complicated once more.
He quietly observed her reaction, tightened his arms around her, and asked in a deep
voice, "Do you remember when you asked me about Greg's mother?"
She was caught off guard by his sudden question and glanced at him in confusion. She
was puzzled as to why he suddenly mentioned the topic now. After all, they were talking
about her child, not Gregory.
His deep and low voice sounded in her ears once more, "At the time, I thought that the
timing was wrong and decided to conceal the truth from you. The truth is that… Greg is
actually that child."
As soon as the words left his mouth, she froze in shock. His words endlessly echoed

When she finally came back to her senses, she looked at him in pure disbelief. "Are you
speaking the truth? Is Greg really that child?"
"Of course, it's the truth. Think about it. If you're not his biological mother, then why would
he be so special to you? It's all thanks to that special mother and son bond that you both
felt. It's only natural to have a special sense of attraction for each other." He nodded and
confirmed the truth.
Her entire mind went blank at the revelation, and she did not know how to describe her
own emotions at the moment.
"Give me a moment to gather my thoughts." She raised a hand and gestured for him to
continue their conversation later.
He knew that it would take her some time to digest the information she had just received
fully. Therefore, he simply waited for her quietly.
A few minutes later, Tessa finally organized her thoughts and stared at Nicholas with a
complicated look in her eyes. "Have you always known that Greg is my child?"
Nicholas nodded. "I discovered the truth a long time ago.
When she heard his response, the look in her eyes became very complicated.
"If you knew, then why didn't you tell me?" She shot a questioning look at him.
He answered her question honestly, "I wanted to tell you immediately when I first learned
the truth. But you were working so hard for your dreams at the time. I thought that you
might give up on chasing your dreams wholeheartedly if you knew that Greg was that
child. If I did that to you, it would feel as though I was using our child to restrict your
freedom. After all, I once promised you that I would never let the children become the
shackles that prevent you from pursuing your dreams."
When she listened to his side of the story, she was so moved that her eyes filled with
tears. She never realized that he had shouldered such heavy burdens on her behalf
without her knowledge.
"You fool!" She sobbed softly and lightly hammered her fists against his chest.
He did not mind. Instead, he lovingly wiped away the tears at the corners of her eyes.
"Don't cry."
"Although you were acting with my best interests at heart, you should have told me about

dissatisfaction.
At the sight of his annoyed wife, he immediately confessed to his mistake with an honest
attitude to comfort her." You're right. I failed to consider my options carefully."
A short while later, she relented to his coaxing and asked, "Does Greg know?"
"Not yet. But, I will look for a suitable opportunity to explain the situation to him now that
you know the truth," He voiced his thoughts clearly.
She nodded in agreement. Then, a random thought seemed to occur to her. Her
expression became somewhat worried as a result." Do you think Greg will be able to
accept the truth?"
"Why wouldn't he?" He countered her question with another question.
She pursed her lips and pondered for a moment but could not find the right words to
explain her doubt. It was just a feeling that she had.
He saw through her concerns. Thus, he hugged her tightly and cajoled her. "Greg loves
you. He might be surprised to learn the truth at first, but I'm sure he won't have trouble
accepting it."
That's right. Greg adores. He might even be happier to learn that I am his biological
mother. But what if... She did not dare to bet on the possibility.
