Chapter 448

Late at night, Rachel snuggled in David’s arms.

She looked up at the silent man in front of her, then she reached out her fingertips to touch his bulging Adam’s

apple. “Are you still angry?”

Hearing this, David lowered his head slightly and looked at her. His cold aura entered her breathing.

“I was just wondering when you’d trust me more.”

She would rather face the danger alone than contact him immediately.

“I do trust you.” Rachel broke free from his embrace. She propped herself up with her hands and looked down at

him with a burning gaze. She frowned slightly as if she was thinking about something.

To be honest, there were only a few people in this world that Rachel really cared about, but David was an exception.

She did not expect that the person who had forcefully barged into her life would not only catch her off guard but

also give her one of the few warmth she had.

Suddenly, she said calmly, “I’m just used to relying on myself all these years.”

When she was brought back to the Johnson family as a child, it took her a long time to adjust. She was cautious and

scared every day, for fear of being abandoned again if she behaved insufficiently.

Even though everyone in the Johnson family respected her as Miss Grey, it still could not make up for the sense of

security in her heart.

Being abandoned by the Grey family made her understand a principle from a young age.

Instead of begging others, it was better for her to rely on herself.

Therefore, no matter how well the Johnson family people treated her, she was still not used to relying on anyone.

In her eyes, there was no one more reliable than herself in this world.

Rachel’s beautiful eyes were filled with contemplation. After a moment, she spoke again, “I’m glad you popped in

today.”

Actually, she had thought about it for a long time, but she really did not know how to express the gratitude she had

in her heart.

David stretched out his arm and pulled her back into his embrace. He gently stroked her cheek with his fingers, and

there was a hint of a smile in his deep and cold voice. “As your boyfriend, it’s only right for me to rush over as soon

as possible whenever you’re in danger.”

“How can we take the ‘right’ things for granted?” Rachel looked at David and her gaze softened inch by inch. “You

don’t owe me anything, so you don’t necessarily need to do it.”

David looked at her beautiful and clear eyes. His eyes became darker and deeper, and his Adam’s apple bobbed. “I

did it willingly.”

As he spoke, he stroked her cheek with his palm and kissed her lips.

His aura was gentle and domineering as it invaded Rachel’s domain bit by bit like an impenetrable net that

enveloped her from top to bottom.

The hem of her pajamas was lifted, and her skin trembled under his warm palm. His kiss was still going down.

After an unknown period of time, David’s forehead was pressed against hers. His dark eyes were filled with lust. His

deep and cold voice seemed to be given a unique magnetism, extremely bewitching and seductive. “Go to sleep.”

Rachel leaned against his chest, unable to calm down for a long time.

Even though the two of them had slept together for many days, they had never had any physical intercourse.

David had always respected her and was very accommodating. It gave her a sense of security and made her feel

touched.

The sound of their breathing could be heard clearly in the quiet room.

“David, what if I say I’m ready?”

The moment she blurted it out, Rachel secretly bit her lips in frustration. How could she say such a thing?

When she finished speaking, there was no response for a long time. She thought that David should be asleep.

Just as she secretly heaved a sigh of relief, David suddenly said, “You can’t wait for this to happen, can you?”
