Kirk went over to hold Caroline in an embrace. He picked up a fork and started feeding her. “What

Caroline ignored him.
Kirk put his chin on her shoulder and chuckled lowly. “I was talking about my driving skills. What were
you thinking? Your face is red.”
Caroline shot him a look. “I’m hot!”
As she spoke, her stomach made a noise in protest.
Seeing that Caroline was really hungry, Kirk stopped teasing her. He fed Caroline like he was feeding a
child.
Caroline was overjoyed.
Right then, her phone rang. Caroline glanced at it and said, “It’s Grandpa.”
Kirk frowned. “Don’t answer it just yet. Call back after you finish eating.”
