Chapter 760
Soon, Gwen and Caroline arrived at Michael’s clinic. Gwen had originally planned to wait for Caroline
outside the treatment room, but Caroline persuaded her to leave.
“I’ll just take a cab home. You should go home for now.”
“Are you sure you’ll be fine?”
“Dr. Caldwell wants to talk to me alone. I don’t know how long it will take, and I don’t know how long you’ll
have to wait if you stay.”
“Okay.” Gwen had no choice but to leave the clinic.
After watching Gwen leave, Caroline turned to Michael. “Let’s begin, Dr. Caldwell.”
Michael hesitated to say something.
Caroline smiled slightly. “I’ve already prepared myself.”
“All right. In that case, come with me.” Michael led Caroline to a special treatment room.
The outer walls of this room were covered in iron. It looked heavily guarded.

“Sit down over there.”
Michael kept close attention to the changes in Caroline’s expression. Seeing that the equipment didn’t
frighten her, he sighed in relief.
Caroline followed Michael’s instructions and laid down on the chair, slowly closing her eyes.
Beside her, the nurse stepped forward and attached the equipment to various parts of Caroline’s body.
Although Caroline had mentally prepared herself, she still felt her heart skip at the bone-chilling feeling.
“Ms. Evans, please let go of all your distracting thoughts and go to sleep. Imagine that you’re lying on the grassy

distance, and everything was quiet and beautiful.

She was breathing the fresh air, but at that moment, she heard the sound of lightning and thunder.
She was so frightened that she stood up and ran away.
However, the lightning and thunder were getting closer and closer, as if it were beside her.
Caroline wasn’t hallucinating because, in reality, Michael had turned on the equipment-the sound of rumbling
spread throughout the room.
The nurse glanced at Caroline worriedly. Sweat began to appear on Caroline’s face. She obviously sensed

“Dr. Caldwell, does she really have to do this?” the nurse asked in distress. She looked at Caroline, who
was about the same age as her.
Michael sighed helplessly. “I don’t have much of a choice. This is what the patient requested.”
At this moment, Gwen realized she had been deceived. She arrived at the parking lot almost at the same
time as Kirk and Sean.
When she got out of the car, she grabbed Kirk’s collar. “Kirk, I’m warning you. Even if you’re SY Group’s

anything to do with them, and yet, you still lied to her. You’re so cruel!”
Kirk shook off Gwen and strode toward the treatment room. Gwen wanted to catch up to him, but Sean
stopped her.
“Sean!” Gwen said with gritted teeth, “Get the hell out of my way!”
“Calm down, Gwen! Kirk didn’t mean to deceive Caroline!”
“Didn’t mean to, you say all because of him that Carol’s going for shock therapy. There’s nothing to
explain.
“Sean, I’m warning you. If you stop me again, we won’t have any ties with each other. We won’t contact
each other again!”
