Nina replied, "It's from when I was in middle school. There should be some, right?" Julia grew more nervous. "Which issue specifically? You were in middle school for three years. Do you know the exact issue?" "When I was kidnapped at school," Nina said casually. "That was a big event. It should've made the papers." Julia's expression shifted again and again. "Why are you looking for that?" Nina paused, then looked up at her mother. "I've been feeling strange lately. I thought looking at those newspapers might helpremember something." Julia immediately grabbed Nina's hand. "There's no need to find that. Why remember such a painful experience? It'll only make you unhappy. Besides, your dad's collection doesn't include every issue. If you can't find it, it means it's not there." Nina confirmed, "Are you sure it's not there?" Julia replied, "No, it's not. But tell me, what have you been thinking about lately?" Nina had searched through everything but could not find the newspapers from that period. It seemed they really were not there. She decided not to waste more energy.
"Not much, just snightmares," Nina said. "It's similar to being kidnapped, just in a different setting." Julia's expression grew more serious. "You haven't been sleeping well lately, have you?" Nina chose not to mention the recent dangers to avoid worrying her mother.
"A bit," Nina admitted. "Maybe it's just work stress." Julia felt sorry for her. "I'll make scalming tea later. You need a good night's sleep. Don't let work wear you out." "I will," Nina said, holding her mother's hand. "Everything will be fine." Julia then asked in concern, "How are things with you and Nash? Are you still considering the divorce?" This was Nina's most troubling issue. Should she divorce Nash? He had risked his life for her and was now tying in the hospital, critically injured. Asking for a divorce seemed heartless. Nash had treated her well, and she was carrying his child.
The best option would be a happy family. She did not want her child to lose their father.
