Nina noticed that Micah had left, so she walked over to his desk. There were several notes and sforeign books. As she flipped through the pages, a bookmark fell out.
The bookmark itself wasn't particularly special, but the design on it seemed oddly familiar. She thought for a moment and realized that it matched the symbol on the clothing of the people who had chased her and Scarlett.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtNina was shocked. Could this really be a coincidence? The symbol must be skind of mark. Could it be that Micah was actually connected to the Pharaoh? "The noodles are ready," Micah said, bringing two bowls of plain noodles to the table. "Ceat." Nina quickly hid the bookmark in her sleeve and said, "Okay." They sat across from each other, the simple noodles served with a single egg. It looked very plain.
"I'm not much of a cook, but I hope you don't mind," Micah said softly.
Nina took the utensils and started to stir the noodles, her eyes lingering on Micah. He ate his noodles quietly, but when he noticed her gaze, he paused. "Did you find something?" It was clear he knew she had been looking through his things. Micah must have understood her purpose for being there, but he didn't confront her directly.
Nina decided not to hide anything. She placed the bookmark on the table. "I've seen this symbol before. The people who chasedlast thad this on their clothes. You are connected to the Pharaoh, aren't you?" Micah remained indifferent. "It's just a symbol." "How can it be just a coincidence?" Nina pressed. "If you knew I'd find this bookmark, you must have left it there on purpose. Why? What is your real intention? Are you a friend or a foe?" Nina was no longer certain. Micah's gentle demeanor made it hard to imagine him as a bad person.
Seeing her suspicion, Micah's lips curled into a faint smile. "Shouldn't I be the one asking you that?" "No, I'm asking you now," Nina insisted. "Did you go see the person who tried to killthis morning?" "Yes," Micah admitted. "She's my sister." "You have a sister? Why would ea she want to kill me? I have no enmity with her!" Nina was stunned. Ske had never even met his sister, so why would she want her dead? Micah shook his head thoughtfully. "I may not have been clear. I don't actually know if she is really my sister. I have a feeling she might not be." Nina was puzzled. "I don't understand. What do you mean she might not be your sister? You grew up together. How could she not be?" Micah sat upright, not treating Nina as an outsider, "My sister went missing when she was very young. She only returned recently. Back then, she was just a little girl. Now she's an adult. How am I supposed to know if she's really her? Her personality is vastly different from what I remember."
Nina said, "People change a lot as they grow up. Maybe she went m through stou tough experiences." Micah smiled lightly. "You might be

"What is it?" Nina asked, confused.
Micah looked at her wrist. "You said that bracelet was given to you by a man, but do you know it was my knowle mother's keepsake? It should have been worn by my sister." X
