Rosalie tried her best to suppress her sobs and took a deep breath, forcing herself to calm down. "Grandma, it's me." No matter how hard she tried to hide it, her voice still sounded hoarse.
"Rose," Rebecca recognized Rosalie's voice. "What's the matter? Are you ill? You didn't try contactingover the past few days. The last tafter you went home, I called you, but you never answered my call. I was so worried! Theo calledat that time. He said he was with you, and that your phone was faulty. Was that true?" Rosalie nodded. "Yes, Grandma. I contacted Theo after I reached home. That's why I was with him. I forgot to tell you about it, so sorry." "Oh, you careless child. I'm relieved to know that you're fine. But what's going on between you two? Have you two reconciled?" "Grandma, there's nothing for us to reconcile over. Theo and I will always be family, no matter what. It's very normal for us to meet. Grandma, how is Theo?" "Don't you know?" Rebecca asked.
Grandma's counter-question made Rosalie's heart leap. "Grandma, I don't know. I didn't reach out to him yesterday as I was busy with my own stuff." "Theo went for a business trip. He was very busy, and left in a hurry. He didn't even have tto say bye to me." "He went for a business trip?" Rosalie asked anxiously. "Where did he go for this business trip?" "I don't know about that. I'm an old lady, and t haven't been asking about what's happening outside for the longest time. I wouldn't even bother asking much about what you youngsters do and where you go." "Grandma, did Theo tell you himself that he went overseas?" Theodore was clearly injured; Rosalie had seen sblood on the floor, and was certain that his injuries were severe. If he really went overseas, he would have had to take a plane. How would that be appropriate, given his grievous injuries? Her mind was filled with doubts, but she didn't dare ask her grandmother about it. It sounds as though the latter wasn't aware of her being kidnapped. "Rose, what's the matter?" Rebecca sensed that something was wrong. "Did Theo not tell you about the trip? Did something happen between you two again?" "Oh, nothing," Rosalie said hurriedly. "Grandma, don't worry. Nothing happened between Theo and me." "Why didn't he tell you about his business trip, then? You seem to be clueless about it. What's going on? Don't hide anything from me." "Theo and I fought, and he probably went overseas out of spite," Rosalie explained.
