He turned around, his face frighteningly pale. "If you still don't love Mom, you wouldn't even be here right now! You wouldn't care about the child she gave birth to, either." "Theo, you're my son! I care about you, no matter what." "Then why were you always not around when I was young? Why were you always with other women when I needed you most?" Wesley was at a loss for words.
Theodore sneered. "You're here not because you're a good father. You're at best a bastard who suddenly had his conscience pricked and wants to go back to your family." Wesley clenched his fists. "Did your mom say something to you?" "No, she didn't say anything. She doesn't even talk toabout you." His words were blades piercing through Wesley's chest.
Theodore's words were cold and cruel, but they exposed the truth that Sydney never talked about his father to him.
Her hatred toward Wesley had faded to cold indifference.
Although they still met and interacted with each other, a huge chasm laid between them.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtWesley would rather Sydney spoke bad about him to Theodore. At the very least, that would prove that he mattered to her, even if she hated him.
"Your mom still can't forgive me, but I'll try very hard. Can't you helpout? We're family. Isn't it good for a family to be together? Theo, I'll make it up to you." "No, I won't help you. I don't need you to make it up to me. Mom will never forgive you, and you don't deserve to be forgiven anyway. You did wrong, and she'll never forgive you. One day, she'll find a better man and abandon you. You'll be in misery, and regret everything you did." Theodore's cold, unfeeling words sent waves of pain crashing in Wesley's heart.
Yet, these words were a precise description of what happened to Theodore himself.
He ended up walking down his father's path. He knew it was wrong, but he committed the smistakes anyway.
At that point in time, both of them didn't think what they did was wrong. It was as if they were blinded to think that they were right in what they did they refused to listen to anyone, stubbornly and arrogantly insisting on their own ways.
By the tthey realized their mistakes, it was all too late.
"I can only resign to my fate if your mom doesn't want to forgive me. I was at fault and I really regret what did. The please cdown from there, won't you? I'm begging you, you still have your family, no matter what happens. You can always talk tous." Wesley almost went on his knees.
"Family?" Theodore scoffed. "Yes, I do have family, but so what?" "What about Rose?" Wesley asked. "What about her? If you don't want to talk to us, you can talk to her. I'll get her here." "Don't talk toabout her," Theodore said as he nudged forward.
"Fine, fine!d won't talk about her." Wesley said, frightened out of h wits ify won't talk about her. Set it don't want to see her it's fine." He didn't know what exactly happened to cause Theodore to beclike this. He felt like Theodore had changed overnight.
Theodore didn't even explain how he got hurt, and simply beclike this when he woke up.
He felt like an empty shell without a soul and a heart.
He even lost the drive to chase after Rosalie.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmDid the arrow that pierced his chest destroy his emotions as well? Did Rosalie shoot him with her own hands? No, Rosalie couldn't possibly have done that to him.
Wesley and Sydney had discussed this, and wanted to ask Rosalie about it.
However, Theodore's final words
before he went into the operating theater were, "Don't contact Rose. Don't tell her about me, or I'll cut ties you." with He was even bleeding from his eyes at that point in time.
The frightening tone he spoke in and the look in his eyes told them how serious he was being.
As his parents, all they could do was to avoid all contact with Rosalie and not answer her calls. X
