Chapter 217 Tolerant Towards My Loved Ones
Mu Zhi raised her head all of a sudden. When she met Xie Xiu’s eyes, she paused briefly. She stopped
for a second from taking the fish, and told Xie Xiu, “It is mouth-watering. Do try some. I can’t use my
chopsticks to get for you, help yourself.”
Xie Xiu did not respond nor move his chopsticks. He only held up his glass and drank half a glass of his
lemon water.
At this time, Xie Xiu’s secretary walked slowly into the room.
She was not afraid to hide her irritation by the thick pungent smell of grilled fish as soon as she entered
the room. She covered her nose for a moment.
Grilled fish, hotpot, and Yunnan Bridge Noodles were more or less similar to each other. It smelled
good and exceptionally appetizing when you are the one eating it.

Mu Zhi raised her lips and sneered.
“You are doing this on purpose, aren’t you? Coming to this sort of place and even using chopsticks to
eat this sort of food!”
“What do you mean this sort of food? It’s grilled fish.”

Mu Zhi thought the secretary meant that she shouldn’t have brought Xie Xiu for such a spicy dish, so
she replied simply with an innocent look on her face.
However, this lady reprimanded her angrily, “Mr. Xie does not know how to use chopsticks. Are you
letting him watch you eat on purpose?”
She turned and looked at Xie Xiu after having her words.
“Mr. Xie, I can help you debone the fish.”
Xie Xiu maintained the kind smile on his face and said, “It’s alright.”
Then, he waved at his secretary and ordered, “Go back to the company and convey my orders as
we’ve discussed earlier.”
The secretary hesitated. Her gaze pierced through Mu Zhi like daggers when she glanced at Mu Zhi.
However, it was Xie Xiu’s orders. She could not disobey him.
She threw one last furious stare at Mu Zhi before she left.
Nevertheless… After the secretary had left, Mu Zhi had no appetite for the fish anymore.
Xie Xiu had lent her a helping hand in the past, and even though Xie Xiu had decided to trouble Lu
Jinye at the eleventh hour, Mu Zhi should not have acted so harshly.
She had a reason for her act of choosing grilled fish as their meal, as well as an extremely spicy one.
She loved spicy and food that was full of flavor.
However, after the secretary pointed out that Xie Xiu could not use chopsticks, Mu Zhi could not eat the
grilled fish anymore.
She meekly apologized, “Mr. Xie, why don’t we change places? It’ll still be on me.”
“It’s alright. Don’t worry about me.”
Xie Xiu smiled lightly.
“Then I shall not eat either. Let’s go somewhere with some fresh air.”
A heavy scent of spices and chili oil enveloped every table in the restaurant. The smell was not
offensive, but it would cling onto one stubbornly.
It did not go with Xie Xiu’s temperament.
Xie Xiu did not refuse either this time. He stood up with gallant and replied, “Ladies first.”
Mu Zhi got up awkwardly and headed out.
Their bodies smelled fishy even though they did not eat much. Hence, there was not really a place for
them for a cup of coffee or tea.
No quiet place for small talk was suitable for them now.
They could only look for an open area to air themselves off the smell of grilled fish.
When Mu Zhi realized her own mistake, she felt even more embarrassed, “My apologies, Mr. Xie. If you
don’t mind, we can take a walk at the park.”
Xie Xiu did not decline her offer. He agreed with a nod.
So, the both of them went to the park. After the reminder Xie Xiu’s secretary gave her, she felt her acts
childish.
When they arrived at the entrance of the park, Mu Zhi saw a vending machine selling coke. She bought
two for each of them.
Mu Zhi talked as they were walking, as she did not want to share the same bench with Xie Xiu at the
park. “I’m sorry Mr. Xie, for ignoring the fact that you didn’t know how to use chopsticks earlier on.”
Xie Xiu lowered his head and looked at Mu Zhi. There wasn’t even a tinge of unhappiness in his dark
eyes when he stared at Mu Zhi.
“Has your anger subsided then?”
Mu Zhi felt more embarrassed when she heard his question.
So… He knew what she intended to do all along. But he did not expose her?
“I am confused.”
Mu Zhi did not answer his question. She replied to him with another question.
“Why are you confused?”
Xie Xiu asked.
“Since you knew that I was doing all these on purpose, why didn’t you stop me?”
Mu Zhi looked at Xie Xiu earnestly.
This man before her eyes was unpredictable. She could not deny the fact that she was clueless about
what he was thinking.
But she was sure as hell that this man was no emphatic slayer in the business field.
Why was he so patient towards her?
Xie Xiu only smiled gently and explained, “I don’t know either why I couldn’t bring myself to stop you.”
This reply left Mu Zhi loss of words.
She could only stare at her own feet.
Coincidentally, a couple who were cycling while having fun with each other at the park headed towards
them.
The boy who was leading the way did not notice Mu Zhi. It was already too late when he saw Mu Zhi.
He lost control of his bike and flew towards Mu Zhi.
Before Mu Zhi could react, Xie Xiu pulled her into his arms and deterred the boy and his bike from
colliding with Mu Zhi.
