Chapter 219 An Unexpected Kiss
Mu Zhi blinked her eyes and stared at Lu Junnian. She was not sure if it was because it had been a
while since she saw Lu Junnian or that he had become a father-to-be, he looked more mature.
Mu Zhi quietly collected herself and said, “I met him at a hospital in the United States. We don’t really
keep in touch, you don’t have to worry.”
However, Lu Junnian still frowned, dissatisfied.
He was evidently worried about her. He gazed at Mu Zhi and said, “Let’s talk.”
Mu Zhi was certain that it wouldn’t take long for Xie Xiu to have his bone relocated, so she was
reluctant to go out and have a talk with Lu Junnian.
Or perhaps, she just didn’t want to be alone with Lu Junnian.
“We can talk here.”
Since Lu Leiming was present, Lu Junnian probably wouldn’t go too private.
Lu Junnian glanced at Lu Leiming, then at Mu Zhi again, “I wish to have a talk with you privately.”
Mu Zhi gawked at Lu Junnian and bit her lip thoughtfully. “It’s alright, you can talk to me here.”
Lu Leiming glanced at Lu Junnian at this moment. Knowingly, he stood up, walked out, and closed the
door behind him.

from Xie Xiu.”
Mu Zhi glanced at Lu Junnian, “Your father must have come to discuss a collaboration with Xie Xiu.
Why are you approaching him then if you think that he’s a dangerous person and want me to stay away
from him?”
She did not know either why she’d react like this when she saw Lu Junnian.

Lu Junnian kept silent.
He stared fixedly into Mu Zhi’s eyes.
Mu Zhi did not want to stand near to Lu Junnian there, so she found a place to sit. As she settled down,
she realized that Lu Junnian had not given her an explanation yet.
He sat quietly opposite Mu Zhi as well.
The atmosphere felt a bit awkward.
Mu Zhi felt out of the place.
Lu Junnian stared at Mu Zhi with his deep dark eyes.
There were many things he would want to tell her, but they were all stuck at his throat.
Mu Zhi was suddenly cognizant of the fact that she did not understand Lu Junnian at all.
She felt that Lu Junnian wasn’t happy either.
If they acted single-mindedly, then it’ll be meaningless for the both of them.
Mu Zhi stood up, stretched herself, and headed out.
She turned back and thanked Lu Junnian when she opened the door, “Thank you for your reminder. I
will be careful to not provoke Xie Xiu.”
This, perhaps, might be the last deal she’d be able to make with Lu Junnian.
But Lu Junnian grabbed Mu Zhi’s arm the moment she was about to close the door. He pulled her back
and into his arms.
And kissed her gently before she could react.
Mu Zhi did not expect all of this. She was stunned!

Mu Zhi tried to push Lu Junnian away, so he would let go of her.
Lu Junnian had never used such great force to hug her.
However, Mu Zhi could not struggle out of Lu Junnian’s arms.

However, right at this moment, they could hear the doorknob being twisted from the outside. Shortly
after, Xu Changshu was seen leading Xie Xiu into the clinic.
Although Lu Junnian reacted at lightning speed and immediately let go of Mu Zhi when he heard noises
from the outside… they could not hide their nervousness.

has something important matters to discuss with you. I shall take my leave.”

Although she knew that Lu Leiming might not be here to talk to Xie Xiu about work.
She was not a lobbyist for Lu Jinye, so she refused to join their conversation.
Little did she expect Xie Xiu to glance at Lu Leiming, and promptly refused him.
“Madam Xu, I appreciate your recommendation, but I’ve just arrived City A and I wish to relax for a few
days. If it’s regarding work, perhaps we can talk about it next time, or you could make an appointment
with my secretary.”
“Let’s go.”
Xie Xiu did not have any intention to stay after having spoken his mind. He walked right out of the clinic
in big strides.
Mu Zhi looked at him with hands tied… She was baffled.
