Elliott gave off a look of guilt and said to Emily, “I’ll walk you out.”

The elevator arrived and Emily tumed to him, “Get some rest
“Sure,” Elliott watched as Emily entered the elevator, his gaze filled with longing and affection.
The elevator doors slowly closed, shutting out Emily’s beautiful face.
Elliott suddenly had a deep realization that growing up had cost them so much.
By the time Emily got home, it was already evening. She opened the door to find Charlie and Kya playing with toys
on the balcony.
Charlie, wearing a dark blue shirt, was sitting on the floor. He was having a fun time patiently playing with Kya
Kya was even more delighted, her laughter echoing as soon as Emily stepped in.
Hearing the door open, Charlie turned his head and looked over, and Kya ran towards Emily, “Mommy!”
“How long were you asleep for, did you miss me when you woke up?” Emily lifted Kya with a warm smile.
Charlie watched Emily’s warm smile, a ripple of emotion stirring within him
“Daddy was playing with me!” Kya exclaimed happily.
Emily paused, and then said, “Uncle Charlie was talking about a game, the game’s over. You can’t call him Daddy
anymore!” “Got it!” Kya squinted, grinning, “I’ll call him Uncle Charlie”
“That’s right!” Emily pinched her little face.

He knew she must be tired too.
Emily had been entertaining guests with Gina today and had a few drinks. She touched her face, “is my face red?”
Charlie looked at Emily’s face. Her eyes were moist and even more captivating than usual. He felt a pang in his
heart and softly said, “A little, shower should help.” Emily took a sip of water, hesitated, and then said, “If you’re
busy…”
“Im not busy!” Charlie cut her off, “Stop beating around the bush and go take a shower.”
“Alright, I’ll cook after I shower. What do you feel like eating? Emily’s eyes twinkled, her smile gentle.
“You’ve had a long day, don’t worry about cooking. Ive already ordered food; it’ll be here soon.”
Emily nodded, realizing he’d taken care of everything.
“You should call Jonah and invite them over too.”
“No need, Jonathan and Estelle have gone out.”
Charlie calmly responded, then returned to the balcony with Kya to continue their game. He reassured her, “Just
take care of yourself, don’t push yourself too hard. I’ve got everything under control”
