The next morning, Schilder and Jonathan both signed a cooperation agreement, with only the Lamont
family on the cooperating side.
Schilder reached out and said, “Cheers to a great partnership!”
Jonathan raised his hand and shook it, saying, “To a great partnership!”
Schilder laughed, “Mr. Lamont’s girlfriend is really cute. Thank her for finding my wife’s long–lost
earrings. I’m so grateful! Please be sure to convey my sincere thanks to her!”
“Thanks for the compliment! I sure will!” Jonathan replied with a gentle smile.
Schilder said, “We’re leaving today, but we’ll keep in touch through phone.”

Schilder and his wife caught an afternoon flight. Estelle and Jonathan saw them off at the manor. When
they left, they saw Winnie waiting outside the villa.
Baldrick was furious to learn that Schilder had signed an agreement with Jonathan alone and stormed
off before noon. But Winnie was still there. Winnie, wearing a long dress with light makeup, looked
even younger and fresher than before.
She approached with a smile, looked at Jonathan, and said, “Mr. Lamont, can I talk to Estelle in private
for a moment?”
Jonathan looked at Estelle, who nodded and said, “I’m all packed up, and we can leave right after.”
Their business in C City was done, and they were returning to J City that afternoon. Estelle didn’t have
much to pack. It was just a few gifts from Mrs. Macy before she left and some local specialties from C
City that Jonathan had prepared for her.
Jonathan patted her head and said, “I’ll be waiting!”

Estellé agreed and said to Winnie, “Let’s go!”
The two strolled along the garden path beside the villa. Winnie started the conversation by saying, “Mr.
Lamont is really good to you!”
Estelle raised her eyebrows, neither confirming nor denying.
Winnie smiled faintly, “When I first got together with Baldrick, I was about your age, fresh out of college.
I had big dreams but couldn’t resist his tenderness. I plunged into love and stayed by his side for seven

wherever he goes. I always believed he loved me, but he married other women for the sake of the

Her voice choked for a moment before continuing, “Until he wanted me to accompany Schilder for this
cooperation, I finally realized that I wasn’t that important. But even then, I was still obsessed, willingly
