Chapter 933

Jonathan’s head was buzzing, his chest so tight he could hardly breathe. He managed to ask, “Is she seriously

injured?”

“This has nothing to do with you, Mr. Lamont!” Gabriel answered coldly. “I’ve told you about Stella’s past. Her future

is none of your business. You don’t need to concern yourself with her, nor do you need to be involved. She’ll be fine

without you”

Jonathan felt as if all the light in his life had disappeared into an abyss. He gave a slow nod, said no more, and got

up to leave.

On his way back to J City, his phone wouldn’t stop ringing.

Charlie, Yvonne, and calls from the company.

He put his phone on silent, letting it light up and then go dark over and over again. Everything was clear now!

Including Estelle’s identity which he had doubted.

She was his wife!

She was with him, maybe because he gave her favorite chocolates, or maybe because of the life–threatening trials

they went through together. But he hadn’t seen her for three years, and didn’t even know her name.

Three years later, she tried to approach him again, but he hurt her once more. He remembered the pain in her

eyes when he broke up with her.

She must be disappointed in him.

He took a deep breath, fought back the tears, picked up his phone, and dialed a number.

“Find out which doctor went to Manley’s suburban mansion on the night of the 19th and bring him to see me.” He

hung up and immediately sped up.

By the time he returned to J City, it was completely dark. Millard brought the doctor who had treated Estelle to see

Jonathan.

When the doctor walked in, a tall figure sat in the shadows of the couch, leaning slightly forward.

He seemed deep in thought, unmoving until Millard called him, then he slowly looked up.

“Dr. Rowland, please sit down.” His voice was hoarse.

Dr. Rowland nervously sat in the chair opposite him.

Jonathan took a deep breath, as if preparing himself, then asked in a deep voice, “The girl you treated that day,

was she badly injured?”

The doctor, looking at the brooding man in front of him, trembled as he said, “I’m sorry, I took money and

promised not to tell anyone.”

Millard brought two safes filled with cash and placed them in front of the doctor.

Jonathan’s voice contained no warmth, “I can give you double the money, but if you still refuse to speak, your

hospital might receive a corpse in half an hour.”

The doctor shivered all over, looking at the cold Millard beside him, he had no doubt about the man’s words, “I’ll tell

you!”

“Tell me everything that happened after you saw her. Don’t leave out any detail.” Jonathan said.

“Yes,” the doctor swallowed, tremblingly said, “That day I was working at the hospital and was taken to a suburban

private mansion. When I saw the girl, she was lying in the sterile room, covered in blood. I thought she was already

dead.”

Jonathan’s long eyelashes fluttered slightly, his voice hoarse, as if something was stuck in his throat, “What

happened next?”
