Agnes can’t for the life of her figure out if her mom’s death really had anything to do with Alyssa

Agnes stared at the picture, her fingers slowly tightening around it.

Hamish looked at the photo as if he was looking at old friends, enthusiastically recounting each person’s life
experiences and anecdotes to Agnes.
When he mentioned Julia, Hamish noticeably paused, “This one
