Yolanda’s fingers were gripping the steering wheel with a vice–like intensity.
Could it be that the two of them had rekindled their old flame?
Yet, as hard as she tried, Yolanda couldn’t bring herself to believe it.
If they had, surely the media would be buzzing with the news.
After all, Jared’s fiancée was Valeria. Had it not been for that that actress‘ conniving schemes, they would have
already been
engaged.
Valeria, a top–tier manager at the Thomas Group, was miles above Agnes in terms of status and capability
Yolanda mulled over the idea, but still couldn’t see Agnes and Jared getting back together.
In her mind, Mrs Whitfield’s place was still reserved for Valeria.

The next day at work, Agnes noticed people were giving her strange looks, but she was clueless about what had

Whilst grabbing a cup of coffee, she decided to probe Ramona for some answers.
Hesitant, Ramona divulged, “The office is buzzing with rumors about you and Mr. Whitfield, Agnes. I’d advise you to
tread carefully. Mr. Whitfield may be young and successful, but he’s also a notorious playboy. His love life is a
carousel of actresses and socialites, not a game we common folks can afford to play.”
Ramona’s advice was sincere.
Amused, Agnes responded, “Why would there be such rumors in the office?”
After a moment’s hesitation, Ramona leaned in and whispered, “The Director mentioned it. She said she saw you
get into Mr. Whitfield’s car last night.”
With a complex expression, Ramona asked, “Agnes, is it true?”
Agnes, completely nonchalant, laughed, “Of course it’s true.”
Ramona looked taken aback, not expecting Agnes to admit it so readily.
Agnes clarified, “Mr. Whitfield’s driver was there to pick him up last night, and he offered me a lift home. That’s just
him being a gentleman.”
Considering her words, Ramona scratched her head, “Yeah, I suppose there’s nothing wrong with that”
Agnes continued, “Mr. Whitfield and I had a 40–minute discussion about the promo video last night before leaving.
Didn’t the Director leave much earlier with the rest of you? How could she have seen me get into Mr. Whitfield’s
car? Unless she was waiting outside for 40 minutes”

Others said Director Bowman was spotted waiting outside for Mr. Whitfield, her intentions clear But most believed
that Director Bowman, jealous of Agnes stealing the promo planning, had purposefully slandered her and tried to
ruin her reputation.
After all, Yolanda’s reputation at the office had always been less than favorable.
