126. Guard's mate
"Ugh! How could I get caught?!" Nathan exclaimed in shock and disbelief as they both kept walking fast toward the pack
house office.
He still couldn’t digest the fact that his master plan was caught by Athena so easily.
"You are thinking about that? I am still stuck at the smile she was having at the end. It's still giving me chills." Dominic
said as he actually shook his head, as if he really got a chill run down his spine at that moment.
"Oh, don't even talk about that." Nathan said with a nervous look on his face while opening the door of the office room
where a guard was waiting with Justin.
"Whoa, you came fast." Justin exclaimed in surprise as he thought it was going to take time to convince Athena. "What's
wrong? Why do you both look like you have been chased by a ghost?" He asked with a frown as he couldn't think of
anything else seeing their faces.
"No, we have been chased by a ghost smile." Nathan said with a small roll of her eyes, confusing Justin more than ever.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"Nothing, he meant nothing. Forget all these. Just start with the god-damned meeting. I have only thirteen minutes left."
Dominic scowled at them and that widened Nathan's eyes.
"Oh yeah, otherwise you have to sleep in the garden. Let's hurry up." Nathan said, immediately earning a glare from
Dominic.
The thing Dominic was trying to hide from the guard actually came out through Nathan. That stupid man!
Justin's eyes widened when he heard Nathan and he immediately understood what was going on. He got serious in no time after
all he couldn't let his best buddy sleep in the garden. But the guard was having a hard time handling his smile.

His alpha, sleeping in the garden! He couldn't imagine!

"Enough now! Why did you call me? It obviously isn't for signing some damn paper and what's he doing here?" Dominic snapped
in annoyance while looking at the intruder. Suddenly everyone got serious again.
"Alpha." The guard bowed in front of him to show respect which he accepted with a small nod. Dominic looked at Nathan to
explain what was going on.
"Dominic, he is one of our guards. And he has found his mate." Nathan said and Dominic frowned hearing him.
"And why are you telling me that? Do you want me to congratulate him?" He asked with a frown. He was being extra sassy at
that moment because he was displeased after being called at this moment as well. Also the fear of Athena' s threat was there as
well, i
"No, his mate is from the shadow eclipse pack." Justin continued for Nathan without paying heed to Dominic's sarcasm as he
could understand him.
Dominic frowned hearing him.
"Derrick is torturing his mate as well? I swear to the goddess, I am not going to leave him this time if that's the case." Dominic
said with gritted teeth and fisted hands.
As a leader, he couldn't bear anyone going through any bad experience luck torture and abuse. Nothing angers him more than
an abusive man. He swore to protect everyone in his region when he promised to be their leader. And he was going to keep his
promise even if that means killing an alpha.
"No, it's not that. His mate is actually off Derrick's rader and she has been handling herself very well there. But the fun thing is,
they found each other for a long time now." Nathan said with a smirk, making Dominic confused.
"For how long?" Dominic asked the guard with a frown.
"One month now, alpha." The man answered.
"Why?!" Dominic asked with a deep frown, unable to understand why someone would stay away from his mate for so long.

"She said she had something to do there before she left the pack and joined me here." The guard said in a monotonous tone.
"What is that?" Dominic asked yet again.
"The destruction of her current alpha." The man answered with his eyes held high, making Dominic shocked..

"Why does she want his destruction and how is she going to do that alone?" He asked with a frown.
"She didn't tell me why yet, alpha. But she is going to once she is here. And how is she going to do that? By giving me
the pack's inside news." The guard answered while looking away from Dominic.
Dominic's face went cold seeing him look away and he immediately understood that the guard was lying.
"Stop lying to me, bud. You know that's not going to end well!" Dominic snapped at him and the guard looked at him with
widened eyes. He looked unprepared.
"L..I'm... alpha, actually..." He tried to find words but gave up at last when he saw that he couldn't win this against his
alpha. He let out a sigh. "She didn't tell me this yet but I heard from someone in the pack that-..." He trailed off, closing
his eyes.
"That?"
"That she used to be the alpha's 'toy woman' who promised to make her the Luna but he tossed her away after using her
and hence she wanted revenge. I am not sure of this yet." The guard explained and Dominic let out a sigh.
"Do you realise this type of disloyal woman is dangerous for our pack as well?" Dominic asked. If the woman could
betray her alpha, no matter how bad he was, he could betray him any moment. He didn't want such troubles under his
pack.
"I understand, alpha. I have warned her of such things already, alpha and she accepted everything and apologised to
me. She was ready to come with me and live as a low rank guard' s mate for the rest of her life. She said that she had
learnt her lesson and now wants to spend the rest of her life in peace." The guard defended his mate hard and Dominic
could understand where he was coming from so he let out another sigh, not wanting to think about this matter at that
moment anymore.
"And what's that news?"
"That alpha Derrick is planning to attack us at your ceremony."
"I would like to see him try. What's the name of your mate?" Dominic asked while turning back to leave.
