“Mr. Cadman, | can't take something that belongs to you,” Jonathan declined his offer instinctively. He noticed that it was a gold badge.
Lance told him, “I collected a meteorite when | was traveling in the universe and made it into this gold badge. It is a rare meteorite that can contain my mana well. Thus, | used this badge and created a Destino Art to predict the future. Keep this badge with you. When you run into danger in the future, activate it. It might save your life one day.” That had Jonathan's heart racing. He flashed a shy smile and said, “Thank you, Mr. Cadman.” He took the gold badge.
“You need to utter a spell to activate the gold badge. The syllables from the spell can communicate with my mana inside the gold badge. Remember the spell.” Lance then rattled out the spell. “Can you remember it?” he asked.
Jonathan nodded.
Lance grinned. “All right, that's it. It's time for me to leave.
‘Young man, goodbye!”
Having said that, his body turned into a flash of light and flew up to the sky.
Jonathan was stunned.
He stroked the gold badge as emotions filled his heart.
Mr. Cadman is literally an immortal in myths. Back when Mabel mentioned “infinite mana,” | imagined what it would look like. Mr. Cadman has achieved it. It will be great if | can be like him one day! Jonathan pondered about it. There is hope for me. Where there's a will, there is a way. Mr. Cadman and the like didn't have everything laid out for them, but they managed to succeed. They have shown us the way, so | shouldn't be afraid of achieving success.
Jonathan returned to Divine Realm to meet Richard at Chard Hall.
Among the three masters, Jonathan's favorite was Richard.
He had a good impression of Richard and now trusted him wholeheartedly because Lance trusted Richard.
Chard Hall was in charge of Luminary Vessel, so he was a big shot within Divine Realm.
Chard Hall, the alchemy room, and Luminary Vessel were side by side.
Jonathan came to a stop at the courtyard outside Chard Hall. It looked heartwarming and was full of flowers and plants.
Chard Hall was a red and white building that looked like Vipod Residence in Yaleview.
Jonathan walked across the courtyard and stopped outside the door of Chard Hall. There were two security guards guarding the entrance.
All disciples from both the inner circle and outer circle wouldn't lower themselves to become security guards.
“I'm Jonathan Lawson. I'm here to see Master Richard,” Jonathan told the security guards.
One of them took a look at Jonathan. “Master Richard has left orders. You can enter now.”
They made way for him.
“Thank you!” Jonathan thanked them and stepped into Chard Hall.
A foyer appeared in his sight when he stepped into Chard Hall. The coffee table and chairs made of red sandalwood gave off a vintage vibe.
Jonathan's field of vision was surprisingly wide as the ceiling was very tall.
There was a young and pretty lady sweeping the fall inside the foyer, clad in a red dress. She was an Anglandurn.
It was apparent that the young lady wasn't a cultivator.
Jonathan assumed she was tasked to clean up Chard Hall every day.
Divine Realm provided many job opportunities to the outside world. It offered high salaries and tempting benefits.
Hence, many Anglandurns and Chanaeans were willing to work here.
Besides, it wasn't easy to get a job within Divine Realm.
Divine Realm would only hire university graduates with a clean background and proper attitude.
Even though the realm was pretty kind and generous to the employees, they were required to sign a non-disclosure agreement before entering the place. One would face dire consequences if one were to expose Divine Realm's secret.
“I'm here to meet Master Richard,” Jonathan told the Anglandurn lady politely in Ustranasian.
The lady flashed a smile. “Sure. Wait a minute. I'll inform him about your arrival.” Jonathan straightened his back in the foyer as though he were a stick.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSoon, Richard came out.
Lailah, Yuna, and Richard's eldest disciple tagged along behind him.
Richard's eldest disciple was a lady named Beatrix Lachman.
Beatrix was thirty-six years old. Clad in a white long gown, she bore a calm expression.
Despite being in her thirties, she seemed like she was in her twenties.
Beatrix was a Level Five Divine Master. She was the most capable disciple Richard had.
Richard had a total of three disciples who were all capable beings.
Two of his male disciples traveled throughout the year as Richard was very easy on them.
“Master Richard!” Jonathan greeted him politely.
Richard's lips curved. “I've already told Bee to prepare the necessary stuff. Come on in,” he invited.
He spun on his heels and strode away.
Jonathan couldn't help but grow curious.
‘Yuna seemed downcast when Jonathan walked beside her and Lailah. Despite his curiosity, he didn't say a word.
Shortly after, Jonathan and the other two arrived at the
inner hall to join Richard and Beatrix. Hot coffee was served.
Richard sat in his seat and announced, “Jonathan, | want to take you as my disciples. Are you willing to become my disciples?” That was exactly what Jonathan wanted. Of course, I'm willing! As an inner disciple, my status will be higher than a Gold outer disciple. It's a fast-track promotion! “I do!” Jonathan replied in delight.
Richard added, “I'll also take Simon and the rest. Tell them about my decision. They have to come and meet me when they return.” “Yes, Master Richard!” came Jonathan's answer.
Richard's lips curved. “I'm your master from now on.” Beatrix poured coffee for them and said, “Serve your master coffee and bow to him. From today onward, you'll be his disciples.” Jonathan and the other two did as told.
After they bowed to him, Richard flashed a satisfied grin. It was a joyous occasion. Jonathan, Lailah, and Yuna were all promising young talents! Richard never liked competing with Oswald and the rest, but it wouldn't harm to get more capable disciples.
He then told Beatrix to get three boxes. “You're skilled in martial arts and Destino Arts. | might've taken you as my disciples, but you still have to figure out how to improve your cultivation. | can't teach you anything, but here's a gift from me!” After saying that, he gave them each a box.
Inwardly, Jonathan was getting excited. He knew that the boxes contained elixir pills. They must be quality pills! “Thank you, Master!” the three of them chorused.
Richard told them, “I need to leave, so if you have any problems or questions, you may ask for Beatrix's help.” Having said that, he rose to his feet and left.
“Goodbye, Master!” Jonathan and the other two bade him goodbye.
Richard seemed like a kind man, so Jonathan felt comfortable being around him.
After Richard left, Beatrix stretched her arm out.
“Welcome.” The three of them shook hands with her.
Beatrix then explained, “Chard Hall is in charge of Luminary Vessel, which focuses on alchemy. We usually don't get into fights, so Oswald and Gideon dared not find fault with us. In fact, no one can afford to disturb the alchemy department. After this, I'll show you around the alchemy department so you can get used to the surroundings.” They nodded obediently. “Got it, Beatrix.” “That's all for today. You can get some rest now,” Beatrix concluded.
Jonathan and his friends left Chard Hall.
The blazing midday sun shone relentlessly above them.
Jonathan felt grateful to be alive. He glanced at Lailah, whose head hung low as she was deep in thought.
‘Yuna seemed downcast too.
Jonathan came to a stop before Yuna and said gently, “Yuna, I'm sorry.” Stunned, Yuna raised her head to look at Jonathan. Her gaze was clear and innocent.
Jonathan gazed at her sincerely.
Forcing a smile, Yuna replied, “You didn't do anything wrong. Why are you apologizing?” Jonathan uttered, “You look unhappy.” He paused and added, “Are you upset because you have to leave Gideon's faction?” Before Yuna could say anything, Lailah cut in, “Yuna grew up in Gideon's faction. Gideon might be stern, but he was the one who brought her up. It's normal for her to be unhappy after changing her faction suddenly.” ‘Yuna turned to Lailah. “What about you, Lailah? Aren't you
upset?” After going silent for a while, Lailah answered, “There's nothing to be upset about. Let's stop talking about this. The most important thing to do now is to move our belongings over. We can't stay with Gideon's faction anymore.” ‘Yuna nodded. “You're right.” “Let me help you,” Jonathan offered immediately.
Lailah didn't refuse his help.
‘Yuna asked, “Lailah, where are we moving to?” Lailah said, “We can get Beatrix to make the arrangements.” “There are many empty rooms in my condominium. Why don't you move in with me? It will be fun if we live together,” Jonathan suggested.
“Sure!” Yuna agreed instantly, for she loved being around people.
Lailah froze. She sympathized with Yuna and couldn't bring herself to refute Jonathan as Yuna was finally feeling better.
The moving was finally completed at night.
They were all gathered inside Jonathan's condominium.
Jonathan took a shower and put on new clothes before he went to the living room.
Lailah and Yuna were also taking showers in their respective bathrooms.
Jonathan finally had free time to check out the box that Richard gave them earlier.
The box was opened to reveal a white elixir pill inside.
It didn't smell of anything.
The elixir pills produced by Divine Realm were of excellent quality. Elixir pills weren't supposed to smell of anything as each pill would seal all the effects within it.
What pill is this? Jonathan couldn't figure out what pill it was as he didn't know much about elixir pills.
Jonathan was about to switch on his notebook to check the
elixir pill on Divine Realm's website when Lailah came out.
“This is a Trio Vitality Pill, which is an Immortal Pill. It is a class below your Ninth Immortality Pill. Nevertheless, the Trio Vitality Pill is extremely valuable,” Lailah explained.
Jonathan could barely hide his surprise. He knew how valuable an Immortal Pill was. Mabel previously wanted an Immortal Pill.
Lailah came to him, clad in a white woolen sweater and black trench coat.
She looked cool. However, there was a seductive charm about her as her hair was still wet.
Jonathan raised his head and spotted Lailah's bosom.
He promptly recalled the incident that happened back in King Sergiu's tomb. Despite being in a hurry, he got a taste of Lailah.
Lailah didn't know what was going on in Jonathan's mind.
She made herself comfortable on the single couch aside and continued, “Master Richard is a noble and generous person. | believe he doesn't have a lot of elixir pills but he's generous enough to give us three pills this time.”
Naturally, Jonathan knew that too. He snapped out of his reverie and said, “Mr. Cadman is right.” “What did he say?” Lailah asked.
“A person's character can be determined through his aura.
One can lie through one's expressions and words, but there is no way one can change one's aura. The first time | met Gideon and Oswald, | thought they looked terrifying and unpredictable. | dared not communicate with them as their aura were too menacing. However, Master Richard is different. He seemed approachable and kind. Mr. Cadman gave off the same vibes too. He seemed kind and trustable when | first bumped into him,” Jonathan revealed.
Lawson shot him a look. “What about me? Am | unapproachable and unpredictable, too?” Jonathan chuckled. “No. You might look cold, but | trust you. | know you won't backstab me.” Lailah remained unfazed and didn't respond to his words.
Calmly, Jonathan added, “Gideon and Oswald are both masters in Divine Realm. | can't believe they went all out to get the raw stone from me. The public holds Divine Realm in high regard, but | find it hard to respect them.” Lailah responded, “That isn't surprising at all. No one will stay calm when a treasure is presented right before their eyes. You don't know how powerful the raw stone can be.” She paused and added, “Of course, the raw stone might be powerful, but the most important reason is that you're not strong enough. It is normal for others to target a beggar with assets worth millions. If Mr. Cadman was the owner of the raw stone, no one will dare to take it from him.” Jonathan had to admit that Lailah's words made sense.
He replied, “Perhaps Gideon and Oswald think the raw stone is right at their doorstep and they could grab it without having to devise a plan. Besides, it will be easy to kill me after they get the raw stone. No one will know that I'm dead.” Lailah nodded in agreement. “That's right. Their biggest
mistake is... It isn't technically their mistake. No one knew that Mr. Cadman will show up to protect you.” Jonathan laughed bitterly. “I didn't know that too.” “Well, the Chosen One has an enviable fate. From today onward, those who want to be your enemy have to reconsider their decision,” Lailah commented.
Jonathan protested, “It's not entirely because of luck.” He hated it when someone said he succeeded just because of pure luck.
It felt like he didn't work hard at all.
Sensing his displeasure, Lailah chuckled. “Of course.
Everything happens for a reason. If Mr. Cadman didn't take a liking to you, he wouldn't have defended you. Just like how you saved our Lunar Pendant previously. If you weren't kind-hearted, Lunar Pendant wouldn't be in your possession. If Gabriel were in your shoes, he would never have the same encounters as you.”
She finally remembered that they had sex when the Lunar Pendant was mentioned.
Her expression grew awkward.
Jonathan thought of the same thing too. He quickly changed the topic. “Gideon wanted the raw stone, but why did Oswald collaborate with him?” “For the three Ninth Immortality Pills, of course,” came Lailah's answer. “The Ninth Immortality Pill is Precious Pill.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmEven someone like Oswald is dying to get it.” Jonathan was reminded of how valuable his Ninth Immortality Pill was. He asked, “Who is in charge of keeping the elixir pills that Luminary Vessel produces? Why do the masters lack elixir pills?” Lailah explained, “Luminary Vessel keeps a record of all the elixir pills it produces. No mistakes are allowed. Besides, Divine Emperor keeps an eye over Divine Realm, so no one dares to scheme to get the elixir pills. After the elixir pills are produced, Master Richard will turn them in to Divine Emperor just like how you complete the mission.
Divine Emperor's primordial spirit will absorb the elixir pills.
After the mission is completed, Divine Emperor's primordial spirit will place the reward on the compass so those from the administration department can get it.” Jonathan asked, “If Divine Emperor keeps an eye on Divine Realm, won't he punish Gideon and Oswald for trying to harm me?” Lailah shook her head. “Divine Emperor is devoid of ‘emotions or feelings. He lives in the universe, so humans are like ants to him. You won't uphold justice for a bunch of rats, do you? All you care about is that they abide by your rules. Gideon claimed that you stole the raw stone and Oswald brought you to trial in The Inquisition. He then seized your Ninth Immortality Pills. They followed the rules, so they aren't afraid that Divine Emperor would blame them.” Comprehension dawned on Jonathan.
He blurted out, “I think Mr. Cadman is almost as capable as Divine Emperor, but he upholds justice and cares about the world.”
“Well, everyone has their own ambitions. Divine Emperor and Mr. Cadman have opposite characters. They live their lives in different ways. There is no wrong or right as long as they don't harm any lives,” Lailah told him.
Jonathan nodded. “You're right. By the way, one of the Ninth Immortality Pills belongs to you.” He took out one Ninth Immortality Pill from the other box and gave it to Lailah.
Lailah fished out her box and placed the Ninth Immortality Pill into it carefully. She then uttered, “It isn't safe for you to keep the raw stone. However, it is all right if you hide it well and keep it a secret from outsiders. | think you should hand it to Master Richard for safekeeping.” “I've given the raw stone to Mr. Cadman so he can keep it for me,” came Jonathan's answer.
Lailah frowned. “Mr. Cadman is gone, right?” Seeing Jonathan's nod, Lailah continued, “Even if you say
that, no one will believe you!” “What should | do?” Jonathan inquired.
“You need to handle the matter well. Otherwise, the consequences will be dire. | think you should talk to Master Richard about this,” Lailah advised.
Jonathan gave her a curt nod, for he knew she was doing this for his sake.
“By the way, Lailah, what did you see in the Sinai Bible?” he asked.
Lailah shot him a look. “It's nothing.” She got to her feet and declared, “I'm tired, so I'll go to bed now.” She strode away without looking back.
Jonathan stared into space blankly.
Lailah said nothing, but judging from her reaction, it was obvious that her parents’ death was related to Gideon.
He knew Gideon was despicable enough to do that.
Jonathan could also understand why Lailah was being this careful. It was a serious matter, so she didn't want to tell
anyone about it. She might have a plan, but she won't tell anyone about it.
Jonathan let out a soft sigh.
He then switched on the television.
Jonathan was perfectly capable of understanding Anglandurn TV shows.
By then, night had fallen, and the wind was roaring outside the condominium. The condominium was heated by the central air conditioner.
Awhile later, Yuna stepped out of her shower. She had dried her hair and was wearing a red jacket completed with jeans. It was impossible to resist the adorable but fashionable young lady.
Besides, she was kind, sensible, and easily reduced to tears.
Her future husband would be extremely lucky even though he had to coax her a lot.
‘Yuna joined Jonathan on the same couch. She didn't bother
keeping a distance from him.
Jonathan could smell the sweet sense coming from her.
“You must be hungry, right?” Jonathan asked cheerfully.
‘Yuna nodded earnestly. “Yes! | didn't eat since noon.” “I'l call and order some takeaway,” Jonathan told her.
‘Yuna's lips curved. “Sure!” Jonathan then went to the phone to order some food. After making the order, he returned to the couch.
Suddenly, Yuna pulled out the box given to her by Richard.
She offered it to Jonathan. “Here you go. If you agree to be my junior and show me respect, this is yours.” Jonathan was stunned, for it was a very tempting reward.
He calmed down and said, “Fine, you're now my senior, Ms.
‘Yuna. Just keep this. It isn't an ordinary pill. Lailah told me that this is a Trio Vitality Pill, an Immortal Pill. It's too precious.” ‘Yuna scoffed, “I know it's precious. Please, | know more
about elixir pills than you do.” “Then why are you giving it to me?” Jonathan was baffled.
“Well, I'm not interested in martial arts and the like. It was Master Gideon who forced me to practice it.” She still addressed Gideon as “Master Gideon.” It showed how kind she was.
“You're different, though.” Yuna giggled. “Jonathan, you're the Chosen One, so you need to be capable. Look, you can't even defeat me now. When you're strong enough, no one will dare to frame or bully you. You'll also protect me, right?” ‘Warmth spread across Jonathan's heart. We just met a while ago, but Yuna treats me well.
