Chapter 2860

“There’s no helping it. To the people here, Christmas and Christmas Eve are important events, so most of the staff

have gone back except the doctors and nurses on duty,” Chester explained. “ This hospital is slightly classier. The

good thing is that there’s a kitchen attached to our ward, and we can hire people to cook.”

“It’s so troublesome.”

As a mother, Larissa could not stand seeing young people alone during festivals the most. Moreover, she heard

Shaun talking about Chester’s heartless parents, so she could not stand it any longer and said, “why don’t you

spend these two days with US?”

Chester was stunned, but he quickly shook his head sheepishly. “ There’s no need for that. We can just cook up

something ourselves. Besides, the hospital won’t agree to US staying overnight outside.”

“You can come back after having dinner. Our place isn’t far from here anyway. Your friends are there too.”

After speaking, Larissa saw Chester keeping silent with his head lowered.

With that, she quickly hinted at Charity with her eyes.

Seeing that charity did not say a word, Larissa pinched her waist angrily and glared at her as a warning.

Charity was speechless.

However, since she owed Larissa the most in the world, she could not reject her.

“My mom’s right. You should come back with US to the cabin to have a meal.” charity raised her head and

persuaded Chester. “ Then, you can have Shaun drive you back here at night.”

“Forget it. I’ll just be here alone.” Chester glanced at his leg in disgust as he spoke, “I look too frightening. I don’t

want to scare the kids.”

“You’re not frightening. I think it’s fine.” charity was not used to Chester feeling inferior and spoke without

hesitation.

“How is this fine?” Chester said bitterly, “There was a child who was scared to tears when he saw me a few days

ago.”

“That’s not true. That child was just too timid.” charity encouraged him. “Besides, you have to get out of here one

day. You can’t possibly stay in the hospital for the rest of your life.”

“That’s right.” Larissa agreed. “I think you can come over with US later and return after dinner. Charity, call Shaun

and tell him to pick us up after he’s done getting his stuff.”

“Okay.”

Charity stepped aside to take out her phone and call Shaun.

Shaun was surprised. “I’ve talked to Catherine about this before, but she didn’t agree because she was afraid you

would be bothered about it.”

“No. I’m fine with it.” Charity felt conflicted. She did not think Catherine would be so considerate about her feelings.

If it were not for Larissa’s invitation, Chester might have ended up celebrating Christmas Eve alone.

“I’ll come over later.”

After some thought, Shaun added, “Eliza, I know you hate Chester. I’m not really sure what happened between you

two, but I think it isn’t just because he forced you. However, Chester had already received his punishment by

ending up in this state. He has lost his career, family, and even a healthy body. It is really demotivating to a person

as arrogant as him. I truly hope you won’t continue hating him. After all, hating a person can be tiring as well.”

Charity glanced at Chester, who was exerting much effort to walk with the crutch. She whispered, “I don’t hate him

anymore.”

Since Chester lost a leg from saving her, she had completely let go of the past.

He might have been the one who sent her to prison, but without Chester, it could have been Rodney and Shaun

back then too.

As for her parents’ death, it was caused by Sarah and Thomas.

The biggest mistake Chester committed was that he trusted Sarah too much.

Actually, if it were not for Chester forcing charity to have sex with him afterward, she would not have despised him

that much. 1
