Chapter 84 Chapter 84 Lisa Hughes POV 'Where are you? I'm waiting outside the gate' I read the message having our first date today officially as boyfriend and girlfriend.

I sent to Nick a few seconds ago, still waiting for his reply. We were 'Is Xander making you work? Tellif he is, and I'll call him right away' It was barely two minutes I sent the first text to him, yet I sent another one as I was running out of patience, and this time, his reply cin fast.

'I'm sorry. I'll be there with you shortly. Givefive more minutes, please' I breathed out and leaned against the car I had driven. here, waiting for my boyfriend.

Three minutes passed before I spotted him coming out of the building, so I waved at him from where I was standing, and he walked over to me.

"I'm sorry for keeping you waiting," He apologized as he stood in front of me, but I threw myself in his arms and hugged him tightly.

"I have missed you so much," I pouted my lips excitedly. It felt good being in his arms, and I didn't want to disengage from the hug anytsoon.

"I think we are late. Why don't we leave now?" He suggested once I pulled away from him, and I raised my eyebrows.

"Is everything alright? You don't look happy," I was a bit worried by the gloomy look on his face, but he forced a smile as he muttered. "I'm fine," "Are you sure?" "Hmm. I'm fine," He nodded, and I sighed.

"You should drive us then. I prefer to watch you drive," I handed him the keys and winked at him before I hopped in the front seat of the car. He cto joinshortly, and after we fastened the seatbelts, the ride began. "Where did you say you wanted to go?" He glanced atand took his attention back to the road as he drove. "I don't know. Anywhere," I shrugged, and he nodded.

I could not help the excitement in my heart and the smile on my face. The thought of having Nick all to myself as my man gavethis chills.

"Are you sure you are fine? You look gloomy," I was forced to ask him again when I noticed that he never glanced atsince the ten minutes that we've been on the road.

"Hmm," Again, he just nodded awkwardly.

Silence assumed the atmosphere for the rest of the ride, and after the boring long drive, we finally arrived at a beach.

Chapter 84 The cold soothing air welcomedas soon as I stepped out of the car after he pulled over somewhere far from the beach.

"Wow! It's beautiful here. I'm glad you broughthere," I locked arms with him excitedly as we walked side by side to the beach, but the look on his face wasn't appealing. He looked like he was being forced to do this or maybe he didn't like it being around me.

'You two just started dating. He must still be feeling awkward' I told myself even though this was hurting me. "Do you like it here? Isn't it beautiful?” I tried to lit up the dull atmosphere as we stood at the beach and stared at the beautiful blue ocean, but he only glanced atwith an awkward smile that barely lasted for two seconds and disappeared immediately.

"Nick..." He looked at me, but I just bit my lip and closed my eyes briefly. Isn't it too early to complain? We just started dating.

"Is everything alright?” That was the first thing he was going to say tosince we arrived here, and sadly, I could only nod my head even though I wasn't fine.

"Hmm. Everything is fine," I forced a smile and turned my face away.

"Why don't we sit over there, hmm?" He pointed toward a bench just a few paces away from us as he led the way without even bothering to hold my hand.

My heart wrenched painfully as I trailed behind him. Our first date as couple was already going horrible. "So, how was your day?" I looked at him with a warm smile on my face once we sat on the bench, but he just shrugged and muttered, 'It was fine'.

"Do you want to know about mine?" I adjusted on the bench and locked my arm with his while resting my head on his shoulder. He was clearly not interested in how my day went, but here I was, wanting to tell him about it.

"Hmm," Again, his reply was a simple hum.

"I woke up quite late today, did my usual routine, went to the salon to make my hair and my nails. I stayed shours at hto get swork done, and I finally..." My voice trailed off when I looked at him and realised that his attention has been on his phone all along. He wasn't listening to me, and he had no idea I stopped talking, "Nick!" I tried to hold it in, but could not, so I removed my hand and stood up.

"Are you ok? What's wrong?" He finally put his phone away and stood up, looking atcluelessly.

'Calm down, Lisa. You can't afford to get mad at him on your first daten Just pretend nothing happened' I could not believe I was doing this, but what choice do I have? "Lisa? Is everything ok?" He placed a hand on my shoulder and looked into my eyes worriedly, makingfeel like a fool.

"Nothing. I'm fine. I want to go home," I turned my face away, trying to hold back the tears that were trying to well up in my eyes.

"Alright. I'll go start the car," I was expecting him to askwhy I wanted to leave so soon, but it turned out that he didn't care. He didn't bother to wait foras he walked ahead ofto the car and started it while waiting forto join him so we could leave as soon as possible. "Is this really who he is? Have I been making things up in my head that he would be a nice, sweet, and romantic guy? Have I made a Chapter 84 mistake?' As I approached the car, I could not help but ask myself those questions curiously, I was almost at where he parked the car when my phone started to ring, so I paused and checked who the caller was. It was Xander, "Are you disturbing my date because you are single?" I tried to hide the pain in my voice as I held the phone to my ear after I answered the call.
