Chapter 946: Be Careful, He Might Set Off Fireworks at Your Funeral In the grand hall, Warren and Logan sat at the head of the table. Their children were seated on either side in two neat rows. Jared sat quietly beside Marie, his presence understated but noticeable.
Warren's cheerful demeanor filled the room. He had ordered the finest tea and pastries to honor the occasion. After all, today was a joyful day-two families were coming together to discuss the marriage of their grandchildren. Hospitality, on such a day, was paramount.
Logan, however, wasted no time. As soon as he was seated, he dove straight into the matter at hand. "Warren, let's skip the formalities. Alina and Ruud's wedding is already behind us. Now, we need to finalize the arrangements for the younger two. We can't delay this any further." He leaned forward, his tone firm but warm. "By the end of next month, they must be married. It's my wish, as an old man, to see this settled." Warren smiled, nodding in agreement. "It's time. Their wedding should proceed, but let's ensure everything is done according to their preferences. It's their day, after all." Logan was surprised by how smoothly things were going. He had anticipated resistance. After all, Ruud was reluctant to part with his beloved daughter, Tina, so soon. And Warren, who had only recently welcomed a granddaughter, would naturally want to keep her close a little longer. Logan had prepared for a battle of words, but it seemed unnecessary.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇt"Haha, of course!" Logan laughed heartily. "The Farrell family heir's wedding will be grand and splendid. Tina will be treated like a queen-she'll have no reason to be anything but satisfied. And rest assured, after the wedding, the two of them will live on their own. They can visit as often as they like." Warren raised his glass of wine, clinking it lightly with Logan's. "With that assurance, I have no concerns." "Now then," Logan continued, pulling out a detailed list. "Let's discuss the wedding arrangements." Suddenly, Ruud spoke up. "Wait a moment!" Logan froze. He had expected this. He knew it wouldn't be that easy.
As Ruud's voice echoed through the hall, all eyes turned toward him, sharp and piercing. Logan's expression darkened, and Ruud felt a shiver down his spine. He had no choice but to bring up the Brookes family for support.
"Mr. Farrell," Ruud began hesitantly, "it's not that we don't want Tina to get married. But her uncles from the Brookes family spoke to me. They've advised against rushing the wedding." His voice wavered as he continued. He'd already cto terms with his own reluctance and agreed to Jared and Tina's marriage. But now that they were discussing the specifics, his heart felt heavy. After all, his daughter hadn't even called him "Dad" yet.
How could he just let her go? Mr. Farrell frowned slightly and glanced at Jared, his grandson. The boy had clearly failed to get Tina's uncles on board. Jared, however, remained calm, a faint smile playing on his lips.
"Don't worry," Jared said smoothly. "Tina's four uncles have already agreed. You can call to confirm." Ruud blinked in disbelief. "They agreed? How is that possible?" Doubt clouded his face as he pulled out his phone and dialed Brandon, one of Tina's uncles. He asked a few questions in a low voice, only to have Brandon's booming voice roar back at him. "Ruud, what right do you have to object? Jared's thought through every detail-he's practically created a project plan for the wedding! Can you do that? No? Then step aside!" Ruud was speechless. What did this have to do with personal competence? He was a soldier. Planning weddings wasn't exactly in his skill set. As far as he was concerned, marrying someone was straightforward-you just brought your wife home.
Before Ruud could respond, Brandon hung up. Ruud stared at his phone, dumbfounded.
Alina chuckled softly. "Cnow, Ruud. Your daughter getting married is a good thing. Why make it so hard for yourself? She's not dying-she's just getting married. It's not like she'll never cback." Tina, who had been listening quietly, frowned. Was it appropriate to mention her death while discussing her wedding? "Don't jinx it!" Ruud snapped, glaring at Alina. "My daughter has a long and prosperous life ahead of her!" Alina smiled. "Then what are you worried about? She'll still be alive long after you're gone. She'll visit you before you die, don't worry." Ruud's face darkened. "You're really hitting below the belt today." But Alina wasn't done. She added casually, "You'd better think this through, Ruud. We don't have a son, so Jared isn't just your son-in-law-he's effectively your son. If you keep making things difficult for him, don't be surprised if he lights fireworks at your funeral someday. You'll be a legend in the underworld!" Jared couldn't help but laugh, though he quickly stifled it. "Mom, if you keep talking like this, I might just start enjoying myself." Alina shot him a look before turning back to Ruud. "And another thing-one day, we'll both rely on them to bury us. If Jared decides to bury us in separate corners of the cemetery out of spite, what then?" Ruud's expression shifted from anger to fear. "He wouldn't dare!" "Why wouldn't he?" Alina countered. "Your daughter listens to him in everything. She hasn't fully accepted you as her father yet. If Jared suggests burying us apart, do you think she'd refuse?" Ruud fell silent, his face pale. He knew his daughter well enough to know that Alina's words weren't entirely far- fetched.
Jared struggled to keep a straight face. Watching Ruud's changing expressions, he nearly burst into laughter but managed to hold back. Silently, he gave Alina a thumbs-up. She was a master at persuasion.

He didn't have a choice. His daughter was important, but his wife was even more so. At nearly fifty, he didn't have many decades left with even left with Aliña. If they couldn't even be buried together, he'd want to crawl out of his grave to punch Jared. Asher, who had been waiting patiently, stepped forward with a document in hand. "Mr. Pace," he said respectfully, "this is the proposed gift list. Please review it." Warren accepted the list with a nod but didn't open it. Money wasn't the issue here-what mattered was the Farrell family's sincerity toward Tina.
Marie, noticing her husband's hesitation, nudged him gently. Asher understood and added, "Beyond the items on the list we've also allocated 30% shares in several Farrell family companies, sixteen properties in Ashbury, two estates in the countryside, and a hundred sets of jewelry for Tina." Warren nodded in approval, satisfied with their generosity.
At that moment, Jared stood and approached his grandfather. He spoke with quiet determination.m "Grandpa, Master, lon the day of the wedding, I'll transfer all my assets to Tina. I know my abilities may seem insignificant in comparison, but I'll do everything I can to provide her with a safe and comfortable life." The room fell silent as everyone absorbed his words.
