Chapter 952: If Poppy Dies, Someone Will Pay the Price River raised an eyebrow and quickly pieced things together.

For the past five years, the world had speculated endlessly about Poppy's identity. Yet, one thing remained certain: Poppy's position within the Swanson family was unshakable, standing above everyone else. Grandfather truly doted on Poppy as if he were his most cherished grandson.

Jon had investigated Poppy's true identity before, but the results had always been inconclusive.

Given Grandfather's affection, if he ever discovered the rivalry between Jon and Kevin, there was no telling if he might begin grooming Poppy as the Swanson family's heir instead.

If that happened, all of Jon's years of preparation would be for nothing, his hard work turned into someone else's gain.

The thought made River's expression turn cold. He asked directly, "You wantto kill him?" Only if Poppy were dead would there be no one in the family capable of threatening Jon.

Jon shook his head lightly. "No need for you to get your hands dirty. Since he's so fond of the Pace family, we'll give him an opportunity to visit them. Should anything happen to him on the way, it'll have nothing to do with us." River understood.

Poppy was always talking about Alina. If something happened, they could easily pin the blon her.

Before Jon left, River suddenly asked, "Brother, will Kaleigh meet the sfate?" Jon's gaze turned cold and distant. "Kevin won't spare her. If he's determined to drag someone down with him, why shouldn't I grant him his wish?" Inside the room, River's eyes were filled with a chilling darkness.

As long as Poppy's death was pinned on Alina, the woman wouldn't be able to talk her way out of it. If she were burdened with a murder accusation, River was curious to see how she'd manage to hold her ground within the Pace family.

The next morning, Tina was awakened by the relentless buzzing of her phone.

Seeing the nthat popped up first, she muted her phone without hesitation.

A second later, the normally quiet Serenity Ridge group chat exploded with over a dozen messages, one after another, each more urgent than the last.

Dexter: "What's going on? Serena's getting married? Why don't I know about this? What happened?" Gavin: "A wedding? Did I hear that right?" James: "Ahhh! I just saw the news! Serena's getting married? This is killing me!" Philip: "Where's Hayden? Drag him out here! How could he wait until now to tell us? Is he itching for a beating?" Tristan: "Don't worry, guys. We're Serena's closest family. There's no way she'd leave us out of something this big. Maybe the news just hasn't reached us yet..." Liam: "Exactly. Serena wouldn't keep something like this from us. We're her brothers. Even if she didn't tell us, Master wouldn't have forgotten." Damian: "Do you guys have skind of misunderstanding about Master?" The group chat went silent for a moment before a stern voice message suddenly played: "Hayden, cout!" At that moment, Hayden, who was busy supervising sworkers, shuddered when he saw the messages in the group chat. His hands, sore from moving furniture, trembled as he typed his reply. Hayden: "Brothers, it's not that I didn't tell you. I only found out about this last night myself. I didn't send the message." The group erupted.

Dexter: "We got the news yesterday afternoon. You're with Serena all the time, and you only found out last night? Who are you trying to fool?" Philip: "Don't think you can play both sides and escape punishment. If we miss Serena's wedding because of you, I'll show up at your bedside with a knife!" Fuming, Hayden turned around and found Jared standing behind him, staring at his phone.

Exasperated, he said, "Mr. Farrell, I swear I didn't leak anything. Whatever they know, it wasn't from me." Jared's expression remained indifferent as he glanced at him. "I know." Then he added calmly, "I sent the message." Hayden was speechless.

Turns out his brothers were right-this man was utterly shameless.

Grinding his teeth, Hayden muttered, "Could you at least try to act human?" Jared gave him a casual glance. "Oh, by the way, there's another house that needs cleaning." Hayden exploded. "Even ghosts don't work this hard! I've been at it for three days straight, and I haven't even spared the drains in this place!" Jared looked around, inspecting the area briefly before nodding. "Tina likes variety. There are two estates on the outskirts that haven't been occupied in a while. Go supervise the cleaning there, and you can rest while you're at it." Hayden was speechless again.

He couldn't be a person. He couldn't be a ghost. He might as well be a dog.

No, even dogs had it better than him! Jared, knowing exactly what Hayden was thinking, gave him a faint warning. "Don't forget, you owe me. And let's not bring up that recording..." "Despicable!" Hayden snapped through gritted teeth.

Meanwhile, at the Pace family estate, Tina stared at her phone, ignoring the 60 missed calls. She scrolled to the bottom of the list, where she found a call from Hugo made half an hour ago.

She called him back.

Hugo's voice sounded jubilant. "Tina! I heard from Jared that you're planning to have the wedding next month. Do you have tto cby • Do you today? Your mom and I miss you and bought all your favorite dishes." Jennie chimed in from the background, "Tina, are you busy? Don't feel pressured. Your dad's just overly excited about the wedding." Then, quieter, Jennie muttered, "Hugo, do you have any idea what you're doing? A wedding is a big deal. The kids must have a lot to prepare. Why can't you just keep it to yourself?" "I'm just happy," Hugo mumbled in defense.

"Well, you're happy, but what if they're busy? You're just adding to their plate." || Listening to their chatter, Tina felt a wave of warmth, reminiscent of her childhood in Ensford Pinkwater Alley-a tfilled with comfort and love.

Smiling, she replied, "Hugo, Jennie, I'm not busy. Uncle and I will cby for lunch." Hugo's joy was palpable. "Great! We'll be waiting for you at home." Afterward, Tina called Jared to ask if he had tto visit the Reed family with her for lunch.

Jared glanced at Hayden, clearly relaxed. "I do. I'll cpick you up."

At the Pace family estate, Alina stopped Tina after breakfast, her expression serious. "Tina, do youn remember that special symbol you askedto investigate? I've made sprogress recently..." Before Tina could respond, Jared walked in from outside, his tone respectful. "Dad, Mom, I'm here to pick up Tina." Ruud choked on air at the sound of "Dad," stunned for a full ten seconds.

Coughing, he finally managed to sputter, "What did you just call me?" Jared smiled innocently, his expression perfectly polite. "Dad. There's only a month left until Tina and I are married. I figured I'd start getting used to it. You don't mind, do you?" Ruud was speechless.

Alina stepped forward, patting Ruud on the back while laughing. "If you hadn't dragged things out, Ge would've started calling you that ages ago. Just let it be. It sounds nice." Jared nodded with a smile. "Alright then-Dad, Mom." Ruud looked around helplessly. Did anyone care about his opinion at all?
