Tina arrived first. Jayden approached and reported, "Young Master, she's already entered the room." Tina nodded.

In the VIP ward, River was about to poison the person lying on the bed-"Poppy." The door clicked open, and Tina appeared. River's face turned pale, her hand trembling violently as she clutched the vial of poison. "You... How are you here?" Tina answered as if reading her mind, "Your people are already under my control." River's eyes widened in disbelief. "How do you know about them?" Tina raised her eyes, her sharp gaze locking onto River. "River, or should I call you Claudia's pawn?" A pawn not even worthy of a codename.

River's expression froze. "You... you managed to find out about Claudia? Who on earth are you?" Tina stepped closer, one step at a time. "Who I am is none of your concern. But your identity... I know it inside out. Your assets in the capital have already surpassed the Swanson family. I'm curious-why are you so fixated on the Swanson family instead of moving on?" At these words, a deeply buried hatred flickered in River's eyes. Money and wealth had never mattered to her. It was him she cared about.

Clutching the vial tightly, River shouted at Tina, "Don't cany closer, or I'll take his life!" Tina smirked coldly. "Who told you he was Poppy?" River froze and looked down at the person on the bed. There is no greater despair than realizing that years of effort have been for nothing more than discarded trash. River's face turned ashen. "I don't know anything. And even if I did, I wouldn't tell you. Just killalready." Tina raised her hand. This time, it was poison.

Did River really think she wouldn't dare? River's body immediately reacted to the poison, her symptoms multiplying. It was as if her body had beca vessel for lethal toxins, writhing in agony as the poisons wreaked havoc inside her. The pain was worse than death-a living hell.

River never imagined that Tina would actually dare to act.

"Tina, I'm part of the Swanson family! If you kill me, aren't you afraid that-" Tina twirled her fingers, her silver needles gleaming. "Poison is my specialty, but my medical skills are just as good. Don't worry. As long as I don't grow bored, I can test every poison known to man on you." River's face drained of all color. The mere thought of enduring such torment terrified her.

"I'll talk. I'll tell you everything..." At that moment, Jared entered the hospital and ran into the Ruud couple. Together, they headed upstairs. Inside the room, Tina had already extracted all the information she needed. With a wave of her hand, River collapsed to the floor like a discarded rag doll. "Uncle, you're here." Jared nodded and took Tina's hand. "Why didn't you wait for me? You handled this alone." Tina shook her head. "It was a small matter." River's gaze turned to Ruud, but he didn't spare her a single glance. Not even disdain or contempt-just cold, indifferent disregard.

The past decade of her life... what had it all been for? Suddenly, the sound of red high heels echoed from outside the door.

River's expression changed drastically. She looked at the two men in front of her, then pulled a knife from behind her and lunged at Jared.

"You deserve to die!" But Jared didn't even move. Standing perfectly still, he raised a hand and caught River by the throat. His voice was calm and cold. "Overestimating yourself." River stared at Jared in disbelief. He has abilities! Claudia hadn't told her. Nobody had ever mentioned that Jared possessed such powers.

Before River could process her thoughts, a wave of metallic tang filled her chest, and she coughed up blood. She knew she wouldn't survive.

"You'll never beat Claudia," she spat, blood dripping from her lips. Her eyes, however, remained fixed on the door, as if she had completed sfinal task. She knew she no longer held any value to that person. Her fate was sealed, whether here or later.

With those final words, River's breath ceased.

Tina rushed out of the room.

Jared turned to Ruud and Alina. Ruud nodded. "Go ahead. I'll handle this."
