Seeing the reluctance written all over Lumma’s face to dine with him was a blow to Adam.

Before he could answer, Lumma stepped forward timely. “Ruby, Mr. Hills is a busy man, so he wouldn’t have the
time to dine with us.”

decline Ruby’s invitation, changed his mind instantly. “Actually, I’m not too busy today. If Lumma doesn’t mind, let’s
have dinner together.”

have had ways to deal with them, but as Harry was someone Lumma cared about, Adam wouldn’t do anything to
Harry.
Despite Harry’s repeated provocations, Adam pretended not to hear. “Where would you like to eat? I’ll treat you
all.”
On hearing this, Ruby became more excited. “Worm, remember you said you wanted to try the steak at Hedges
Restaurant, but it was too expensive for us? Since Mr. Hills is so generous to treat us, let’s dine at Hedges
Restaurant tonight.”
Adam’s gaze never left Lumma, and he noticed that when Hedges Restaurant was mentioned, a spark indeed
flashed in Lumma’s clear eyes, proving she did want to try the steak there.
Adam remembered the last time he asked Lumma to book a restaurant, she chose that one. But in the end, he
made an excuse that his wife didn’t come and asked her to dine with him, and she still refused.
When Adam thought she would agree, Lumma refused again. “Let’s forget it.”
Harry strongly agreed with Lumma’s decision. “Yes, let’s forget it.”

Ruby turned and dragged Lumma aside. “You stink! Your boss invites you to dinner, and you disagree. Are you
spoiled?”

for your sake. Think about it, I’m your friend, and if he refused my invitation to dinner, wouldn’t that be a slap in
your face?”
Lumma asked, “If you know this so clearly, why do you still provoke him?”
“Ruby, do you think I don’t know what I’m doing? I wanted to take a longer look at him, after all, it’s not every day
that you come across such a stunning man. You have to appreciate it while it lasts. It’s
would like when you’re passing by a place, and you see a particularly beautiful flower, you definitely stop to take a
