Having voiced his excuse, he turned to Heather with a semblance of kindness. “Heather, I

“Therefore, I took the initiative and will compensate you with double the salary this
month! What say you to that?”
Heather lifted her head abruptly. “Thank you, Director!”
With that, fearing Mr. Whitlock might backtrack, Heather rose forcefully, grasped Cherise’s
arm, and headed towards the door. “Cherry, let’s adjourn to the adjacent room and
