Chapter 1377
The Shaw family began treating Sophia coldly after finding out what had happened to Hylda. Two days later, Ethan
stopped her and said, "The company recruited a lot of new people, and we're a little tight on money right now. I
want to withdraw the eight million dollars."
Sophia got a little irritated. "You insisted on investing the eight million previously, and now you want to withdraw it
right away just because my mom is in trouble? Ethan, what do you think you're doing?"
Ethan was straightforward. "The situation is different now. Sophia, your mom is involved in a murder case. Do you
think my family would want me to marry the daughter of a murderer?"
Sophia's expression turned unpleasant, as she clenched her teeth and said, "Fine! Don't regret it!"
She turned around and left. Then, she immediately contacted Albert, intending to withdraw her shares.
Albert lied, claiming that Hylda took a lot of money with her when she left. So, he was short of money and told
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtSophia to wait for a few more days. Then, he hung up the phone.
Sophia tried to call Albert again, but he did not answer.
It was only then she realized that she might have been lied to.
Keegan was very mad that Hylda had gone missing.
The people he sent to track her down had followed her to the airport, but they lost her when she went to the
restroom.
It was Aldor's first time seeing Keegan so angry. He understood that Keegan was worried that Hylda would go after
Stella.
He picked up the documents on the floor and consoled Keegan. "Mr. Kane, it's undeniable that they made a mistake
this time, but Hylda was very cunning at avoiding detection."
After Hylda noticed that there were police at the airport, she gave her jacket and cap to a woman with a similar
figure as hers in the restroom. Then, changed into another inconspicuous outfit and successfully muddled through.
No one had expected that a middle-aged woman like her would be so cautious.
She did not go to any places like the train or bus stations after leaving the airport. Instead, she took a few different
cabs to avoid areas under surveillance and made her escape.
Aldor said, "The police have eyes everywhere, and she probably hasn't left Rivera yet."
Keegan rubbed his temples and said in a deep voice, "That's why I'm worried."
Aldor thought for a moment before he spoke again. "Mr. Kane, we should inform Mr. Saun about this, so he can
keep his guard up too. The surveillance system is very advanced now, and Hylda won't be able to hide for long."
Although Keegan was reluctant to do that, he contacted Trevor anyway out of concern for Stella's safety.
Trevor heard what Keegan told him and immediately scolded him.
Of course, he scolded Keegan for his incompetence and for allowing Hylda to become such a threat to Stella.
Keegan knew that Trevor still held a grudge regarding how he had scolded him at Jaylene's birthday party
previously. So, he just kept quiet and let Trevor vent his frustration.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmOnce Trevor was done scolding him, he spoke in a more measured tone. "I'll get more people to protect Stella. As
for Hylda, who do you think she's most likely to ask for help?"
The most likely person... would undoubtedly be her adulterer, Ian White.
Hylda had never once revealed Ian's real identity. This indicated that she probably still had some real feelings for
him.
Her relationship with Albert had completely collapsed, and there was no way that she would turn to him.
Trevor's expression turned somewhat strange upon hearing Ian's name. Then, he cursed in a low voice, "I would've
exposed her a few days later if I knew that it was that scumbag."
Keegan was puzzled.
Then, he asked softly, "Were you the one who exposed Molly's bedroom shots with the stripper?"
Trevor kept quiet.
While Hylda's case was being investigated, the Moore family was in chaos.
It all began with the scandalous photos of Molly and the stripper being spread around within the circle and
eventually reaching Frederick's ears.
He became extremely angry, and there were even rumors that he punished Molly severely that day.
