Chapter 1409
Stella's mouth formed a thin line.
'Cunning face...
‘That description seems to suit you better, Trevor.'
Stella sighed and said, "Trevor, I believe you can find someone better than him, but I won't like any of them.
"I can't deny that Keegan has his flaws. He could be mean, stubborn, and difficult to deal with, but he also has
redeeming qualities. He would try to cheer me up whenever he made me angry. He wouldn't get mad at me even if
I locked him out. He has never gotten physical with me. He doesn’t force me to do anything I don't want to do, and
if there's something I like, he buys it immediately without looking at the price. Also, even if I hit him when we argue,
he would never raise his hand against me."
Trevor retorted, "Not hitting you is literally the least he can do. How can that be considered a good quality?"
"Let me finish." Stella continued softly, "After divorce, many couples would speak ill of each other in the worst way

can judge a person's character by how they act after a breakup. Things got very unpleasant when Keegan and I
divorced, and he could've easily ruined my life if he wanted to. A person's character is what makes the marriage
last, right?
I'm very confident in Keegan's character, and I'm willing to give him another chance."
Trevor was about to say something, but Stella interrupted him.
"I know you've always hated Keegan because he did not give me any of his wealth after the divorce. However, it
was my choice to leave him with nothing. I despised him because of some misunderstandings back then and
desperately wanted to break free from that marriage. But in fact, he did actually give me something.
"He transferred so much money to me that I could live comfortably for the rest of my life without working. But he
has never mentioned anything about that to you, right? He has not spoken a word about it, although you kept on
blaming him. You've known him since you were a kid. Don’t you know that he's the kind of person who always does
more than he says?
"That's just how he is. Actually, he's changed a lot now, and... " Stella cleared her throat before continuing, "And
you only see Keegan's flaws and not mine. There are very few people who can tolerate my temper."
Keegan was actually doing men a favor.
Trevor asked, "What flaws do you have? Your only flaw is being blind. Otherwise, you wouldn't fall for him."
His words left Stella utterly speechless.
'Well, it seems like my brother is the master at talking nonsense with a straight face.'
"Trevor, I'm only telling you all this because I want you and our family to know that I really like him for who he is. I
hope you all can like him, or at least not reject him, okay?"
Stella had never asked Trevor for anything from the moment she acknowledged he was her brother. That was her
first time doing it, and it was for Keegan's sake.
Trevor did not feel very comfortable about it. He thought Keegan did not deserve any of that. But on second
thought, he felt he should give his little sister freedom.
He slowly began to understand what Stella was trying to do. She wanted to use him as the middle person to convey

Trevor glanced at Keegan.
Keegan had just done paying his respects and was fixing the flowers in front of Rainee's grave.
Having grown up together, he knew very well what kind of person Keegan was. However, he was worried that
Keegan would only bring trouble to Stella if he failed to recover the company from other shareholders.
The internal conflicts within the Kane family were very complicated.
However, there was nothing more he could say after everything that Stella had said.
Trevor pursed his lips. "We'll see what happens."
Stella's expression relaxed as she gently hugged Trevor and softly said, "Thank you, my brother."
Trevor patted her shoulder.
"Everything with the Jewell family has been settled. Is it time to start planning the banquet?"
Stella nodded, "Sure. Just make sure that no reporters will be there. I want to keep a low profile, just like Leighton."
Trevor chuckled, "Got it."
Stella and Trevor chatted for some time. When they returned to Rainee's grave, Keegan handed a flower to Trevor.
"Here you go, my brother."
Trevor gazed at him and accepted the flower. Then, he walked up to the grave and took a bow in front of it.
Keegan was a little surprised that Trevor did not just ignore him.
