Chapter 1435
Cordelia continued, "However, it seems like you've been performing well lately since the Saun family is still willing to
invite you here."
Keegan replied, "Stella had made her stance clear to her family. She said that if they don't agree with us being
together, she'll end her own life."
It was just a statement, but Keegan was somehow showing off when he said that.
Cordelia fell silent for a moment. Then, she said, "The banquet hasn't even started yet, and you're already drunk?"
Her response dumbfounded Keegan.
"Don't you have a little self-awareness? Clearly, Stella was just teasing you. Why would you take it so seriously?"
Of course, Keegan did not take it seriously, as Cordelia said. He was simply trying to show off a little. However, it
turned out that his grandmother was still sharp enough to know about his place in Stella's heart.

"Keegan."
Jaylene's gentle voice came from behind. Keegan paused, turned around, and nodded politely to her. Cordelia also
adjusted her posture. She sat up straight with an elder's demeanor.
Jaylene wore a light blue long dress that exuded a hint of elegance. Her long hair was tied in a low ponytail, and she
wore a delicately designed sapphire necklace around her neck, with matching earrings. They complimented her
graceful makeup and highlighted her beauty.
She had a slender figure, a skinny waist, and a charming presence. She walked gracefully, catching the attention of
many.
Obviously, she was the spotlight of the banquet that night.
As she approached Cordelia, she asked gently, "Grandma, when did you arrive?"
Cordelia smiled and replied, "Not long ago. Jaylene, you look gorgeous tonight."
Jaylene seemed a little shy and said softly, "Our family is welcoming my younger sister back in the family today, and
it's a joyous day for everyone. So, of course, I have to dress up for the occasion."
Stella was almost three months younger than Jaylene. So, technically, she was Jaylene's younger sister.
Cordelia still smiled when she said, "The jewelry you're wearing shone so brightly, and I couldn't even see you
clearly when you were walking over here. I thought that it must be the new heiress of the Saun family because of
how extravagantly you dressed. I only realized I was wrong when you spoke to me."
Jaylene was taken aback.
Cordelia's words sounded strange as if she was implying that her outfit was too showy and that she was trying to
steal the limelight. Jaylene scrutinized Cordelia's expression and saw her gentle and kind smile, which made her feel
like she might just be overthinking.
She pursed her lips and changed the topic before she stepped forward to hold Cordelia's arm. "Grandma, this seat
is a bit off to the side. Let me take you to the front."

This distance is just right for me."
Jaylene paused and had no choice but to retract her hand.
She raised her hand, and a waiter soon came over with a tray. The waiter bent over and placed some delicate-
looking pastries on the table next to Cordelia.
Jaylene said, "Grandma, I had someone specially prepared these pastries and food for you. The dishes served later
are mostly very flavorful, and I thought you may not like them. So I got you these lighter and softer snacks that are
easier to digest."
She paused for a moment before saying to Keegan, "Keegan, the banquet will only start a while later. You should
have some, too."
Keegan did not say anything.
Cordelia smiled and said to Keegan, "Look at how thoughtful Jaylene is. It would be great if your sister were as
sensible as her."
Keegan said, "I'll make Aurora learn from her."
His response made Jaylene utterly speechless.
