Chapter 321
Cynthia glanced at Kendrick, wondering what was going on with him today.
Joshua also found Kendrick’s behavior pecullar but did not say much and simply gestured
toward the restroom.
Once Kendrick left, it was just Cynthia and Joshua standing there in silence.
Neither of them spoke.
It would have been an awkward atmosphere if it were any other pair in this state, but
Cynthia and joshua managed to exude a strong sense of chemistry.
Alter Kendrick went to the restroom, he took out his phone and sent a WhatsApp message
to Cynthia
[Kendrick Cyn, do me a favor and ask Joshua to delete last night’s surveillance footage.]

He sent three messages and waited for Cynthia’s response.

Five minutes, and still no reply from Cynthia.
He sent another message.
Kendrick: Cyn, did you see the messages?]
On Cynthia’s end, she did not bother to check her phone as she usually set her phone to
silent mode in the evening, so she had not seen any of the messages Kendrick sent, nor
did she play with her phone.
As time passed and they stood there for quite a while, Joshua suggested, “How about we
go to the living room? Kendrick might take a bit longer.”
“Okay,” Cynthia replied indifferently.
They both went to the living room, just sitting there without doing anything
Joshua did not intentionally bring up any topics of conversation; he knew that Cynthia
simply wanted to leave, and she did not want to hear anything he had to say, so he did
not bother her.
Another five minutes passed, and Kendrick still showed no sign of coming out. Cynthia
could not help but frown as Kendrick was taking too long in the restroom.
She was about to take out her phone to send him a message when she heard the sound of
the restroom door opening
Kendrick walked out, looking somewhat troubled.
Cynthia was puzzled.
What was wrong?
Kendrick saw the two of them sitting on the sofa and felt a sense of helplessness.
Just as he suspected, Cynthia had put her phone on silent mode!
“Sorry to interrupt, but we’ll be leaving,” Cynthia said, distancing herself from Joshua

“There’s something I need you to handle,” Kendrick whispered to Cynthia, pulling her
aside.
In normal circumstances, having a secret conversation in front of others was not
appropriate. Ilowever, Kendrick had automatically considered Joshua as one of their own
after what happened last night.
Cynthia remained as calm as ever and asked, “What is it?”
“I need you to ask your ex–husband to delete last night’s surveillance footage. We can’t
let such embarrassing evidence exist. What if he keeps it as leverage against me?”
Kendrick said in a hushed tone, showing his urgency.
Cynthia was dumbfounded. Soon, she replied with certainty, “He’s not that kind of
person.”
“Please help me. If it’s not deleted, I’ll constantly be consumed by thoughts of it, unable to
focus on my work” Kendrick expressed his worries as various concerns overwhelmed him
Cynthia stared at him.
