Noemi yelled, “I told you to leave! Didn’t you hear me?”
Deanna interjected, “Mom, please don’t push Brian away. He loves you, and he is willing to divorce
Rosalynn. Right, Brian?”
A brief silence enveloped the room, and Rosalynn’s fingers involuntarily clenched into a fist as she
listened to their conversation.
She eventually heard Brian say yes.

Noemi asked, “Brian, are you really going to divorce her? Are you going to do it right now?”
Brian assured her, “Mom, I don’t have to handle the divorce process myself. I’ll have the lawyer take
care of it.”
Noemi seemed satisfied.
“Excellent, Brian. I don’t want to stay here any longer. Book a flight right away, and let’s get out of
here.”
Brian replied, “Sure, it’s all up to you.”
Rosalynn stood at the doorway, her gaze unfocused as she released her grip on the door handle.
