Chapter 0593

Enzo

*She said she ordered something special for you."

The team member's words gavepause. | had only intended on coming out tonight for one drink, seeing as

how | had a flight in the morning. But it seemed as though both Mila and the team had other intentions.

| raised an eyebrow, feeling a bit uncomfortable about Mila's persistent attention. "Oh, did she now?" | replied

after hesitating for a moment.

My teammate nodded as we headed back to the table. "Yeah. Said she wanted to treat you since you're heading

out tomorrow."

Feeling a bit awkward but not too perturbed, | headed back to the table and took my seat, where Mila was still

sitting beside me. She leaned over and touched my arm, her smile almost too sweet.

"| ordered something special for you, Enzo," she said, her voice low and maybe a little suggestive.

| looked at the drink in front of me, realizing it was already there. "Oh, thanks, Mila," | replied, trying to be polite.

| took a sip of the drink, not wanting to seem ungrateful.

But about halfway through the drink, | started to feel a bit strange. My senses tingled, and a subtle shift occurred

inside of me. It was as if my instincts were on high alert, and my wolf, usually a silent presence in the back of my

mind, spoke up.

"Enzo, be careful," my wolf warned. "There might be something in that drink."

| frowned inwardly, my suspicions growing. | had never encountered a situation like this before, and | couldn't

help but wonder if Mila had ulterior motives.

Thankfully, my size and my werewolf nature mademore resilient to whatever might be in the drink, but |

couldn't ignore the strange sensation coursing through me.

Mila gavea sideways look, her eyes locking onto mine before flitting over to my drink. "Why aren't you

finishing your drink, Enzo?" she asked, her tone slightly perplexed.

| debated my response for a moment, not wanting to cause a scene but also not wanting to put myself in a

vulnerable position. "I'm actually feeling a bit tired," | said, hoping it would be a good enough excuse. "I think I'm

gonna head back to the hotel."

Mila's eyes flickered with disappointment, and she leaned in closer. "Oh, con, Enzo," she purred, her hand

inching up my arm. "You don't have to leave just yet. The night is still young."

| felt increasingly uncomfortable, not wanting to engage in any further interaction with Mila. "I appreciate it,

Mila,"

| said, trying to remain polite. "But | really should go. Thanks for the drink."

| stood up, grabbing my coat off of the chair.

"So soon, Enzo?" Tim asked, his eyes meeting mine.

| nodded. "Early flight tomorrow," | said with a smile. "I'm tired."

Tim nodded and stood, and circled around the table to meet me. He extended his hand for a shake, and | took it,

shaking it firmly. "Don't forget about my proposal," he said quietly, clappingon the shoulder.

| managed a tense smile. "I won't."

"Goodnight, Enzo," she said, extending her arms for a hug. "It was nice seeing you."

| paused, stiffening a bit, before | extended my hand, silently refusing her hug. "Likewise."

The next morning, | awoke with an ache in my head and in my chest. But it wasn't from the drinks; it was

because of Nina.

| had talked to her last night, and she was still in Mountainview. | couldn't blher, though. How could I? Her

As | finally forced myself to get up and start packing my bags, my mind raced with thoughts of the night before.

There had definitely been something in that drink.
