Chapter 1064

As everyone made their way up slowly, Genevieve noticed that Sean had a camera hanging around his neck. He

would occasionally turn it on to take pictures of the surrounding scenery.

Unable to contain her curiosity, she asked, “Are you simply taking pictures of the scenery, or...”

“Taking pictures of the scenery,” Sean answered. “Then I'll choose a few good photos and publish a city news article

later.”

Genevieve burst out laughing. “You're such a workaholic!”

“It's my love of photography coupled with occupational habit. That's all.” Sean laughed as well and put away his

camera before walking up slowly next to Genevieve.

Due to their similar ages and shared interests, they soon struck up a conversation.

Genevieve pulled a bottle of mineral water from her bag, opened the cap, and drank a few sips. Suddenly, she

turned to Sean and said, “I recognize your voice. You helped me at the bar that night.”

When he helped her to repair her car, she had already thought that his voice sounded familiar, but she was unable

to recall it until just then.

Sean froze momentarily before realization dawned on him. “Was that you? I didn't notice.”

After a short pause, he explained to Genevieve, “I think you wore a slip dress that night and looked very pretty. But

at work, you always wear a shirt and a long skirt and your hair in a bun, so...”

Genevieve merely smiled in response. She did not probe whether he truly did not notice or deliberately said so.

After all, the combination of certain events would not constitute a coincidence.

Hearing the sound of a notification bell from her earphone, Genevieve took out her phone and saw Armand's

message. He asked if she had arrived at Dopdur Church and whether she had put on sunscreen.

This man didn't care much about me yesterday. He didn't even say good night to me. But now he's showing me

concern again.

Genevieve was a little angry. She was going to ignore it, but her eyes flashed when she noticed the young man

standing next to her.

“This scenery is quite nice, Sean. Let's take a few pictures.” As she spoke, she turned on her front camera and

turned around with her back facing him.

“Sure.” Because of his height, Sean had to bend down to get into the frame.

Genevieve took a few steps back to get closer to him. She found a suitable angle, then snapped a few photos

before sending them all to a certain man.

After she sent the message, she was in a great mood. She pulled out a can of coffee from her bag and threw it to

Sean. “It's my treat.”

Sean caught the coffee and happened to glance at the ring on her finger when he lowered his head. “Did Mr.

Faulkner give you this ring?” he asked nosily.

Genevieve hummed in response.

Sean opened the can of coffee and said with a smile, “I guess you must've quarreled with Mr. Faulkner. That's why

you called me to take a photo with you.”

“We didn't quarrel,” she responded. “But some things he did made me furious, so I wanted to make him angry too.”

“You're pushing me into a pit of fire, Ms. Rachford. What if Mr. Faulkner gets angry and fires me?” Sean joked.

“Don't worry. If he does fire you, I'll arrange for you to work in Specter Corporation,” Genevieve replied. “The

benefits there are no less than the government, and I'll let you work there until you retire.”

“Well, then. I'll play along with whatever you want to do later, Ms. Rachford.”

Genevieve flashed a faint smile. “Great.”

They continued talking and taking pictures of the scenery as they walked up. Although they were far behind the

other colleagues, they had good stamina, so it did not take long for them to catch up with the rest of their group.

After they arrived at Dopdur Church, the sound of prayers and the subtle scent of candles gradually dispelled the

restlessness in Genevieve's mind.

She walked away from her colleagues and Sean and wandered around slowly in Dopdur Church. Despite being a

non-believer, she would still bow her head and say a short prayer.

As she turned around to leave after praying, she bumped into a benevolent-looking old friar clad in a robe.

The old friar gave her a slight bow before stepping aside as a gesture for her to go first. However, when Genevieve

was about to go down the stairs, he suddenly stopped her.
