Chapter 1218 Cast Him Aside
When Cooper read the email at the airport, he felt that, at most, the video could only prove that Gerald was
brought into Ninette's place in an unconscious state. However, the lawyer could refute it by saying that Gerald was
only pretending to be unconscious to enter Ninette's house so that he could assault her. That was why Cooper's
brows were tightly furrowed then.
Nevertheless, the recording file could prove Gerald's innocence entirely and that Ninette and her accomplice
conspired to frame him.
All the evidence he had then was enough to get Gerald out of prison.
Immediately, Cooper took out his phone and called Sally, but all his three attempts failed to reach her.

Despite her recovery, Cooper had her stay at the hospital for another two days and even asked Callum to check on
her. Only after Callum confirmed that Amanda's headache would not recur could he finally heave a sigh of relief.
Then, he instructed Steven to send Callum and his assistant to the airport while he brought Amanda and Lucian to
Timothy's place for a meal.
Afterward, Cooper found time to visit Robert and handed the latter all the evidence that would be useful for
Gerald's appeal.
He decided it was best for Robert to handle the matter as Robert was in the military and also Gerald's longtime
friend.
After the discussion, Cooper asked Robert, “Do you know where Sally went?”
Robert was taken aback. “Isn't she with you?”
It had been a while since he last saw Sally, and he had always assumed she was with Cooper.
Cooper shook his head. “No, she didn't even pick up her phone when I called her a few days ago.”
Robert's reaction made it clear that Sally did not contact him. Hence, Cooper did not ask another question and took
his leave.
A week later, the martial court of Jadeborough military district held a retrial of Gerald's case.
Although Ninette and the driver involved in the case were dead, the evidence presented proved that Gerald was
framed, so he was quickly acquitted and released.
Cooper was entirely at ease after finding out about the judgment.
This scheme was planned down to the last detail. If not for that woman recording an important scene by chance,
I'm afraid it would take much more time and effort to find evidence.

He walked to the floor-to-ceiling window and dialed a number.
At first, he thought the call would not go through again, but it did, much to his surprise.
When all Cooper heard was silence from the other end of the line, he said, “Didn't I ask you to look after Mandy?
Why did you leave her at the ward? Where have you been? Your father's case had a retrial, and he was acquitted.”
He spoke so much, yet there was no response from her. “Sally!” he called out, furrowing his brows subconsciously.
Moments later, Sally finally murmured, “I'm sorry...”
Before Cooper could respond, she ended the call after saying goodbye.
Goodbye?
Cooper clutched his phone for a long time and redialed Sally's number after he snapped out of his daze. To his
dismay, that time around, the call did not go through.
Soon, anger coursed through him. His grip on his phone was so tight that the veins on the back of his hand bulged.
This woman... She left without a word and ignored my calls. Now that she finally answered my call a few days later,
the only words she said were “I'm sorry” and “Goodbye.” She even hung up on me and turned off her phone! Is she
casting me aside after using me now that her father was acquitted?
