Selene’s vision dimmed for a moment. She steadied herself and asked hoarsely, “When did you find out?”
“My brother just received this information,” Oliver reassured her. “Selene, don’t be too devastated. We’ll find your
child together.”
“My child… is not Chadwick?” she asked.
Selene and Richard had resorted to in vitro fertilization to conceive, as Richard had a medical condition preventing
natural conception. This meant it was all a scheme, from their relationship’s start to Richard’s illness and the birth

It explained why Chadwick never seemed like a Cassell. He wasn’t biologically related to her.
“Oh, and I just checked the surveillance. Bradley took Esther!” Selene frowned. “Was this also part of your plan?”
Oliver admitted, “Bringing down the Pendletons was part of the plan, but… Bradley taking Esther was not.”
Selene didn’t seem bothered. “Understood. If you have any information about my child, please inform me.”
“Alright.”
Selene hung up and headed to find Tanya, a formidable divorce lawyer. Her only goal now was to divorce Richard
