Bradley’s words left Kevin puzzled. He wondered why Bradley’s actions contradicted his statement about not loving

Esther.

‘His current pain can’t even compare to a thousandth of what Esther endured,’ Kevin thought.

From Kevin’s perspective, Bradley’s behavior seemed hypocritical. Bradley had caused Esther immense suffering,

and now that she was gone, he was acting like that?

“Bradley, unless you can bring Esther back to life, you’ll have to carry the guilt of causing her death for the rest of

your life,” Kevin remarked.

Upon hearing Kevin’s words, Bradley coughed up blood.

The doctor swiftly comforted him, “Mr. Warner, your wife has passed away. Please take care of your health.”

Fearing he might harm Bradley further, Kevin decided to remain silent.

The doctor breathed a sigh of relief and arranged for a consultation with all the hospital experts for Bradley. During

this consultation, Kevin stayed and participated.

Bradley underwent a full-body examination, and the results revealed no issues with his heart. It appeared that his

apparent heart problems were likely psychological.

Finally, a psychologist evaluated Bradley based on the test results. Bradley looked at the psychologist sitting before

him with a mocking smile.

“I can’t possibly love Esther,” Bradley asserted.

Hank Groover, the psychologist, glanced at Bradley and reassured him, “Mr. Warner, admitting that you love

someone isn’t something to be ashamed of.”

“I don’t love her,” Bradley insisted.

Hank smiled and handed Bradley a psychological assessment questionnaire on a tablet. “Mr. Warner, please

complete this set of questions.”

Bradley, being a top student from a young age, found answering the questions a straightforward task. He took the

tablet and answered earnestly.

Hank started playing soothing background music, and the gentle melodies filled the hospital room.

However, Bradley’s furrowed brows did not relax upon hearing the soft music. On the contrary, they seemed to

tighten even more.

Once the questionnaire was completed, Hank asked several more targeted questions.

“Mr. Warner, let’s have a chat.”

Bradley leaned back on the soft cushion, his tone cold. “What do we have to talk about?”

“Let’s talk about your wife, and your son,” Hank suggested.

Bradley raised his eyebrows, displaying an extremely impatient demeanor. “Ask your questions.”

Hank cleared his throat and asked seriously, “How do you perceive your wife, Esther?”

Bradley hesitated momentarily, seriously contemplating the image of Esther’s face. He noticed that when he

thought of Esther, his heart would involuntarily ache. It was as though he couldn’t breathe, feeling a sense of

tightness in his chest.

“I don’t know what kind of person she is,” Bradley admitted, his voice heavy with emotion.

Hank felt a sense of surprise at this answer. It exceeded his expectations.

“For example, beautiful, kind, hardworking, wonderful, annoying…” He attempted to guide Bradley to express his

most genuine feelings about Esther. “Mr. Warner, I’ve never met your wife. Could you describe her appearance to

me?”
