Hexstar stood up, his black robe trailing on the ground as he struggled toward Zaafea with his back hunched and leaning on his cane.
"I leave it to you then, Ruin." "Your soul is mine, kid," Zaafea said harshly before leaving.

"Thank you," Hexstar said weakly.
"We're... doing the right thing, aren't we..." "Maybe..." Ruin was the nthe world gave him. He was an immortal whose age he had otten himself. He was an undying being, a god who did as he pleased.
In the long years, loneliness drove him mad, causing him to lose his sanity.
Thus, he called forth violent storms and rains which eroded everything.
The people had suffered greatly, but they did not give up hope. Their sincere prayers moved the heavens and summoned the gods who ctogether to kill Ruin.
However, his soul did not dissipate, and after having experienced the earth-shattering battle, he realized the power of faith. He then began wandering the mortal world as a soul, seeking to understand the mystery of faith.
After an indeterminate amount of time, he met a man named Zaafea. Zaafea was blind, yet he had managed to sense his presence. Ruin found this fascinating. Even the gods who had slain him had not noticed him while he was a soul. This seemingly frail man who he could probably crush with one hand, however, had sensed him. en.kikistories Due to his eye condition, Zaafea had had no friends since childhood, but he still respected everyone around him with a reverent heart. Thus, Ruin silently followed him and listened to him recount the trivialities of human life. en.kikistories QUMS At first, Ruin did not understand why he was captivated by Zaafea. He had met all sorts of people before. People had feared him when he was alive, and the scould be said even when he was dead.

It was not that he was captivated by Zaafea, but rather, Zaafea was the only one who still remembered him.
Decades later, Zaafea told his children a story as he lay on his deathbed. It was the story of Ruin. He claimed to havee across the story in an ancient book, bolstered further by sof Ruin's own memories.
However, there was part of the story that even Ruin himself did not remember.
