Elisa smiled cryptically. "Nice to meet you, Ms. Garner."

He would never have said those words to Elisa if he still had feelings for Linda.

"Is that so?" Elisa sneered.
Gareth answered urgently, "If you don't believe me…"
"What will you do if I don't believe you?" Elisa laughed and interrupted Gareth before he could finish speaking.
She did not think he could do anything.
Furthermore, she could not stay by his side twenty-four-seven and observe all his actions.
After all, a person's outward behavior and words differ from their true thoughts.
Gareth pursed his lips and said calmly, "Elisa, I know you don't trust me on matters regarding Linda, but I will prove
myself to you."
Elisa retorted mockingly, "So what?"

Elisa refused to believe him no matter what he did or said.
Then, Elisa laughed and answered, "Only if you can turn back time."
She knew what she demanded was impossible. That was why she told Gareth this, to make him give
up.
Her words stumped Gareth, and he did not speak again.
He was not God. There was no way he could turn back time.
Elisa patted Gareth's shoulder. "I'll investigate. Anyway, I only planned to stay here for a while. I'm
leaving first."
"I have a plan," Gareth said, grabbing Elisa's arm.
