“What? Jackson? Do you two know each other?” Caleb was surprised. As far as he knew, Aria was just
a C- lister. Logically speaking, Jackson and Aria had nothing to do with each other.
“Yeah. We met once,” Jackson said indifferently.
Aria’s eyes widened, and her heart began to pound in terror. It was indeed him-the man who had been

Jackson, however, simply ignored Aria. He turned to Lucas and said, “Don’t bring your girlfriend over
again. I don’t like seeing her.”

After Lucas and Aria left, Caleb approached Jackson excitedly as he asked with interest, “What? Did
Lucas ‘s new girlfriend offend you before?”
Jackson lifted his glass of wine that was half-full and downed it in a gulp.
Seeing Aria had made him think of Serenity again. Serenity could have stayed by his side and enjoyed
a good life. She would no longer have to do such dirty and tiring work, and she would not have to live
under another’s control, but why? Why did Serenity refuse him?

be angry at me. I1l behave and stay by your side obediently,” Aria said with slightly teary eyes. She
looked like
a helpless and pitiful woman that needed a man’s protection.
Lucas raised his hand and stroked Aria’s lips gently. Aria knew this was his favorite thing to do these
days.
Lucas seemed very fond of her lips. He praised her beautiful lips, but strangely enough, he would never
kiss her lips.
