Chapter 217
Jenny’s assistant quickly followed her when she saw Jenny leaving the room.
It was early April then, and the weather was still a bit chilly. The male extras wore more layers of
clothes, so they were doing fine, but the female extras were only permitted to wear the base layers of
clothes to prevent them from looking bloated on camera, For this reason, the female extras were all
shivering from the cold. And so, taking advantage of the fact that they were now only watching a
demonstration, they all rushed to put on their own coats to protect themselves from the cold.
All except Serenity, who was still wearing her costume and kneel ng over and over again.
As for Aria, because they were not officially filming yet, she had been wearing her thick coat above her
costume all along.

Aria still would not stop urging Serenity to keep on kneeling.

All Aria wanted was to see Serenity suffer and in pain. Only then could she be satisfied, yet no matter
what, Serenity still would not give her what she wanted.
Thinking of this, she suddenly loosened her grip on the prop heater that she was holding in her hand.
The prop heater fell straight down with a thud, followed by the sound of Serenity’s pained muf fled
gasp.
The copper heater had crashed on Serenity’s left hand, who was still kowtowing on the floor. It barely
missed her head by a hair’s breadth!
Serenity sat straight up, accosted by a sharp pang of pain from her left hand. She looked up at Aria and
saw a glint of satisfaction in her eyes. Evidently, she had done this on purpose.
But in the next second, Aria’s expression changed. She now seemed full of concern and guilt as she
leaned down, almost as if she was trying to help Serenity up onto her feet.
“I’m so sorry!” she told Serenity. “I’m so sorry, I..’
But before she could finish her sentence, someone else had rushed to Serenity’s side and helped her
up.
“Are you okay? Is your hand hurt?
Serenity looked up and recognized that the person who had come to her help was Lucas Gomez.
Even Aria was flabbergasted when she noticed Lucas ‘s sudden appearance. When… When had he
gotten there? And what was he doing helping Serenity right now?!
Judging by what she knew of Lucas, he was never the kind of man to feel sympathy for anyone. Even if

anything to stop that person, so it was simply ridiculous that he would help someone whose hand had
gotten slightly hurt!
As Lucas spoke, he gently touched Serenity’s scalded hand, but just as his finger touched the raw part
of her skin, Serenity could not stifle a sharp gasp. She frowned, and a suppressed cry of pain escaped
her lips.
Lucas ‘s eyes darkened, then he quickly gathered Serenity into his arms and lifted her up before
instructing his employee who had been following behind him, “Go get the doctor on set and tell him to
go to the lounge.”
“Lucas!” Aria shouted, completely unable to process what she was seeing in front of her.
But she was his real girlfriend! Why was Lucas carrying Serenity off, then?!
All Lucas did was glower at Aria coldly before quickly carrying Serenity into the lounge.
