“What else could I do?” Serenity responded. “Refuse them? In that case, I wouldn’t get paid a single
dime today.”
He almost choked. He was fully aware that extras were the workers at the lowest rung of the hierarchy
on set, and they basically had no bargaining power at all when they were demanded to do something.
“How much are you getting paid per day as an extra?” he asked in a muf fled voice.
“I was initially promised 80 dollars,” she explained, “but because there would be a kneeling scene, 50
dollars was added. Just now, when I had to demonstrate kowtowing alone in front of the others, I was

He stared at her with roiling emotions. So, she had kept on kneeling and kowtowing over and over
again, all just for 330 dollars?

“Are there any past grudges between you and Aria Lewis?” he asked. He could naturally tell that what
had happened just now was because Ana deliberately wanted to bully Serenity, yet no one on set
dared to say anything about it

what Ana’s half-sister’s name was. But that was only to be expected since he never cared much about
Ana, anyway. He only kept her by his side because Aria’s lips reminded him of the girl in his memories.
He never expected the woman in front of him to turn out to be Aria’s half-sister.
Just then, the door to the lounge swung open, and in came the woman they had been talking about-
Aria Lewis. She walked in with her face pale as a sheet. She glanced at Serenity’s now bandaged hand

Aria rushed to Luca s’s side and tried her best to look guilty and remorseful, saying. “Thank you for
bringing my sister here and getting the doctor to check up on her, Lucas. I bumped into the doctor on
my way here, and he told me that my sister’s injury isn’t serious at all. I was so relieved when I heard
that.”
Then, she turned to Serenity and said, “I’m so sorry for what happened, Sis. I should’ve held onto the
heater more carefully. I didn’t mean to let it fall on you.”
Serenity stared blankly at her half-sister. She remembered how she used to love Aria sincerely and
wanted to help her as much as she could with her career in the entertainment industry because to her,
they were family no matter what.
But after that car crash, she finally understood that her eamest feelings for Aria were completely one-
sided.
