His lips moved even closer to hers. Their lips were almost touching by now
Serenity could not help but blush. “Don’t.” she said in a panic.
He stopped and stared at her fixedly. “Then how about you tell me how you met him.”
“A thief stole his bracelet. The thief then bumped into me and the bracelet fell into my pocket. Lucas
Gomez asked for it back from me. That’s how I met him,” Serenity said in a hurry.
“Really?” he asked, “How many times have you met him?”
She didn’t count! But seeing Jackson’s face moving closer, Serenity quickly counted and answered,
“Four… Four times. After the incident, he bought me dinner to thank me for the bracelet. Then I ran into

His eyes gleamed. Based on his understanding of Lucas, if Lucas merely wanted to thank her for the
bracelet, he could have just paid her. He did not have to buy her dinner.

ate a grain of rice that was sticking there. “What if Lucas also fancies you? Would you like him?”
Serenity’s body went stiff and her mind went blank.
“Sis?” He ate the rice sticking to the corner of her mouth one grain at a time, as if it was a fun game to
him. “Do you like him or not?”
She pushed against his chest but he did not budge at all.
“No.. I don’t…” she quickly said. She wanted him to end this ambiguous interaction as soon as
possible.
“You can’t lie to me, okay?” he said, his bass–like voice ringing in her ears, “Don’t ever fall for Lucas

Her body went numb. His voice was so pleasant, but hidden under that pleasant tone was a chilly
warning
She felt like she was done for if she really did fall for Lucas Gomez in the future.
But Jackson was the one who lied to her first! He made her think that he was someone she could
sympathize with. He played her like a fiddle and made her look like a fool.
And now, he actually had the gall to ask her not to lie to him? How ridiculous!
“I don’t like him now, but maybe I will one day…” She tried to put up a final resistance with words. It
