“Can I help you? Serenity asked her former co–worker, James Holt. He used to be her partner in the
firm. There were rumors that he liked her, but she was dating Zeke Shaw back then, so she did not
take the rumors seriously.

James Holt observed the face of the woman in front of him carefully. It was still the same face, but it felt
so different now. She used to stand proud and shine bright, but now, she looked reserved and

your help anymore.”
After Serenity said that, the elevator arrived. She walked into the elevator.
As the elevator door slowly closed, James stared at her quietly. His hands slowly tightened into fists.
