As Jackson and the rest of the attorneys entered the conference room, the firm receptionist walked up to Liliana
and demanded. “Give me your phone. I need to collect the recording you made just now.”
“For what?” Liliana clutched her phone stubbornly. She was no fool. How could she hand over such a damning piece
of evidence so easily?!
The receptionist looked down at her as if she was staring at a fool. “It’s because the man you pissed off just now
was Jackson Valor. The fact that I’m asking you to hand over your phone voluntarily is already a privilege. As long as
you stop insulting Serenity from now on, they won’t do anything to you Otherwise.

Serenity entered the conference room with Jackson. The participants of the meeting were all people she used to
work with. There was the owner of the firm and the senior attorney she used to work under when she had started
out in the profession.
From their gazes, Serenity could make out their curiosity but also a hint of cautiousness.
She knew this was all because of Jackson’s presence.
Still, she kept quiet. She wasn’t here to lament the good old days, but to review the details of her appeal and the
descriptions of the new evidence that they had found.
Among the new pieces of evidence, she recognized a few witnesses who had testified against her. Serenity was
surprised that Jackson had managed to track down these people from so many years ago. They all admitted to
giving false testimonies in return for money.
As for the physical evidence, they discovered that someone working in the police department had tampered with
the evidence.
All the fresh evidence pointed to a single person–it was a man named Yuri Volkov.

“Who’s this Yuri guy?” asked Serenity. She hadn’t even heard of his name. Why did he have to go to such lengths to
make sure she ended up in prison?
“He’s the former Vice President of the Hall Family Group. Naturally, he shares close ties with Mira Hall. On the day
of the incident, he was out drinking with Mira. When she drove away by herself, that was when she hit your car and
got into an accident. Worried that the police would look into the matter, he pinned the blame on you. After your
conviction, he resigned from his post and left the country,” explained Jackson.
“But even if he really was drinking with Mira, she’s the one with the DUI. Sure, he’s partly to blame, but that doesn’t
warrant his actions.”
