Lucas swirled the glass in his hand and swept a glance over the people around him. The only reason why he had
accepted Caleb’s Invitation to come to this party was because he had been feeling too depressed these past few
days and needed to take a breather.
But then he discovered that he felt no better at all here, anyway. His brain was fully occupied by thoughts of

“By the way.” Caleb continued, “I heard you and Jackson had a fallout. What’s going on?”
There was a faint cryptic smile on Lucas’s face as he looked at his old friend and told him, “Looks like you’re really
up to date with the news.”
So it’s true? Caleb responded in shock. He had assumed that it was nothing more than false rumors and never
expected there to be an ounce of truth in it “What happened between you and Jackson, then?”
After all, these two had known each other since they were kids! In Caleb’s land, the two people in their group of
friends who were least likely to ever fight and fall out with each other were Jackson and Locas. They had always
been sensible people with good heads on their shoulders, and they would always think rationally through every
problem.
Jackson, especially, was always cold and indifferent to everything —but that was of course before he had met
Serenity Lewis. At the very least, he had discovered during the last banquet that Jackson could really care about a
woman too.
As for Lucas, Caleb had always felt that this guy was cold and distant, always inclined to push people away. Perhaps
the only thing he cared about was finding the owner of that little bracelet.
In fact, some people in their group of friends had even been betting on how long it would take Lucas to finally find
the real owner of the bracelet
“Do you really want to know?” Lucas asked.
Caleb considered it for a while and guessed, “There must be some conflicts of interest between the Valor family
and the Gomez family, right?
Lucas made no response to this, not at all in a hurry to confirm or deny his friend’s guess.

same -woman now! Besides, it looks like Jackson has made up his mind to marry Serenity, so just stop.”
Before Caleb could finish his sentence, faras spring up on his feet suddenly. The nonchalant expression on his face
had been completely taken over by a panicked Inok
“What did you say? Marry?!”
“Y–Yeah.. I… I heard that Jackson bought the Heart of Serenity diamond to turn it into a wedding ring.”
As Caleb was still speaking, Lucas was already rushing for the exit. Caleb could only stare silently as Lucas walked
away, feeling utterly stumped by what had just happened.
