Edwin was bending over to examine Joanne's wound. However, she abruptly pushed him away, and he fell to the
floor.
His thin lips were compressed into a line. His hair fell over his forehead and blocked his eyes, so Joanne couldn't see
the look in his eyes.
Although Joanne had just slapped him in the face, Edwin didn't mind it. He hurriedly took off his jacket and draped it
over her shoulders.

you for the rest of your life?" Joanne couldn't hear any emotion in his tone.
She was scared by his words. Her tears fell even harder. She clenched her lower lip and refused to look at him. She
was indeed a stubborn woman.
She couldn't stop crying and her shoulders were trembling. Edwin felt remorse.
He stopped scaring her and carried her up.
As Joanne tried to break free from his arms, Edwin warned," If you move again, I'll kiss you right now."
Joanne's pale face blushed.
She raised her fist and slammed it viciously at Edwin's chest.
"Edwin, you bastard!"
"Okay. I'm a bastard, but I love you. Is that okay?" Edwin carried her and walked quickly towards the stairs. He was
actually trotting, but he held Joanne steady.
Even as he descended the stairs, she didn't feel any bumps.

He held Joanne tightly in his arms as if he was holding some priceless treasure.
Edwin put Joanne in the car and drove to the nearest hospital.
Joanne had one hand on her right foot. It hurt so much that she couldn't help moaning.

and raced down the road.
A traffic cop tried to stop Edwin's car. But when he saw it was Edwin's car from the license plate, he gave up.

It was the first time that the doctors heard Edwin so anxious. They thought it was Edwin's wife who was injured, so
they were all ready. However, when Edwin arrived at the hospital with Joanne in his arms, the doctors were
surprised. 'Is this his new girlfriend?'
Seeing Edwin bleeding from his head, the doctors wanted to bandage him to stop the bleeding.
