Catelyn slowly straightened herself as she looked at the old man and smiled. "Yes. It's hard for a
single mother to raise children, so please bear with me."
The old man was irritated by her emotionless reply as his face sank.

Maia took out a check with numbers written on it from her purse while she spoke.
"This is just a small gift from me. You've worked hard to give the children a healthy growing environment. If you feel

She slowly reached for the check and looked at it calmly.
