“Go ahead”I said, closing the door behind me

After Cathie asked a few questions, I realized she was really into Neil

Like what type of women Neil digs, his favorite food, the kind of fun stuff he’s into

I answered her one by one

After I finished answering all her questions, Cathie looked at me with those big eyes of hers and said.

“Heard you were deeply in love with him, guess it’s true. How else could you know so much?”

“Good luck with that I said, a smirk playing on my lips.

After heading back to my room and taking a shower, my phone buzzed. It was Russel with a video call.

Once I picked up. I was greeted by his handsome face.

He called to ask about Neil’s statement.

After I explained a bit, he suddenly said. “Maybe I shouldn’t be a doctor, should take over the family

business instead.”

“What do you mean? I asked, squinting my eyes

“So I can be like Neil, more free time.”

Russel said with a bitter smile, “You went abroad, I managed to get a work assignment to follow you.

But now that you’re back, I can’t just leave.”

I opened my eyes wide, feeling a bit sorry for him, “I’ll have a three-second silence for you”

“Wait until I’m back, then you can mourn for me in person.” He said.

“Okay, I’ll bring candles.” I joked.

“You trying to scare me off

“No, just trying to set the mood.”

We chatted for about twenty minutes, then I dozed off, didn’t even hang up the call.

Woke up the next day to a dead phone.

After I charged it up and checked, our call lasted more than four hours.

Turns out he didn’t hang up either, he waited until my phone died.

Next morning. I went downstairs and saw Cathie just emerging from the quest room, her eyes a bit

puffy Looked like she stayed up all night.

“Trene, I thought about it all night, I think my biggest rival is Bonnie. Does Nel really like her? She

asked.

“I have no idea, that’s something you’ll have to find out for yourself.” I replied.

looking I don’t think she’s anything special, I won’t lose to her” Cathie’s confidence was sort of amusing

to me.

After breakfast prepared by my mom, Cathie got a call from a friend and left.

I had a hunch she wasn’t here in Rosemont to visit friends, but to see Ned

Now that Neil and Bonnie’s relationship is the talk of the town, she’s probably feeling the heat and used

this as an excuse to come here

The day after Cathie left, she called my dad, said she wanted to thank us for letting her stay the night

by treating me to dinner, then gave him the address My dad, being good friends with her dad, quickly

agreed and told me to meet Cathie at the restaurant after hanging up.

“Cathie’s a very sweet gut, you can treat this as making a new friend.” My dad said.

He’d rather I go out and enjoy life than confine myself at home, hoping I could recover as soon as

I couldn’t say no, so I grabbed my car keys and headed to the restaurant,

On reaching the private room Cathie booked, I found it full of people, including a pregnant Stella, Neil,

Mitch and Cooper, along with some other folks i didnt recognize

“Rena?” Stella quickly stood up, pulling me out of the room, “What are you doing here? I knew Neil was

coming so I didn’t tell you about it!”

*Cathie asked me to come” I replied, “Is this a party she organized?”

“No! Neil invited her for dinner, she brought along a few friends, then Neil invited Mitch and Cooper,

and Mitch brought me ”

Stella looked confused, “Does Cathie like Neil? You can tell by the way she looks at him. Why did she

invite you then? Did she do it on purpose?”

While we were chatting, the door opened again.

Cathie walked out, looking rather helpless, Trene, I didn’t really want you to come either. But since I

stayed at your place last night, he said I should thank you, so I invited you for dinner. Is he trying to get

“She’s very resilient” I replied, I’m not going to stay for dinner, you guys enjoy. If my dad asks, just tell

him I was here.

Stella nodded. “Yeah, you better not stay”

“Sure, I’m not interested in watching Neil dine with his ex-wife either Irene, you can go. Stella, let’s go

back in.” Cathie said bluntly

I waved at Stella, then she followed Cathie back into the room.

I took the elevator down, planning to grab a quick bite somewhere and head home. Just as I reached

the restaurant entrance, I saw Bonnie and Kate showing up

something happens to her?”

Bonnie looked scared out of her wits, her pupils trembling.

I twisted my wrist, “I didn’t push her. She just couldnt keep her balance, I was just trying to help her”
