Chapter 95

I was looking for Simmons when one of Bonnie’s friends deliberately shoulder–checked me as she

walked by

“Hold up!” I wasn’t gonna take that lying down. I grabbed her arm and snapped, ‘Are you blind?

Apologize!”

No sooner had I said that than her friend came running over, calling, “Malinda!”

Malinda glanced at her approaching friend, then shook off my hand, “What’s the big idea, old lady?”

She was about the same age as Bonnie, so calling me an old lady was ridiculous. I got the message.

“What’s up?” Malinda’s friend asked

It’s all her fault! She’s the reason Bonnie tried to off herself!” Malinda pointed a finger at me.

Her friend looked at me with hostility

I was both pissed and amused, “My fault? Why would she try to kill herself if she hadn’t done anything

wrong? Did you guys waste your time in school? Don’t ethics and honesty matter anymore?”

“Bonnie has always rejected your husband” Malinda fumed, “It’s your hubby who won’t leave her alone.

Why don’t you give him a piece of your mind? And besides, everyone knows your marriage is nothing

but a business deal. You’re just bitter because you can’t get a guy’s love, right?”

Simmons seemed to notice the argument that was going on and came over

He stood by my side and asked, “What’s going on?”

Malinda looked at Simmons and was obviously taken aback. Young girls like her couldn’t resist a good

looking guy. I noticed earlier during the performance that Malinda would occasionally glance at

Simmons while she was glaring at me.

She probably thought Simmons and I didn’t know each other due to the crowded scene

These two ladies were discussing their female friend,” I said with a smirk. “You know her too, the one

who made headlines with Neil recently”

Simmons expression subtly changed. He held my hand and said, “Why bother talking to people like

this?”

His response pissed off Malinda. She stood in front of us and yelled, “Haven’t you heard the saying that

love doesn’t care who came first; the one left

behind is the third wheel!”

“Bonnie is innocent, she was forced into this mess. What gives you the right to bully her?”

I was speechless. These people were all nuts.

I thought they might have been misled by Bonnie’s one–sided story and didn’t know the full picture.

Now it seemed they had become fans of the supposed epic love story.

Well, I’d make sure they paid for this.

“You’re right.” I began to clap, “I thought the same before and filed for divorce, planning to let them be

together. But seeing how upset you guys are. I’ve changed my mind. I’ll withdraw the divorce papers

tomorrow”

After I finished, Malinda’s face turned pale. She stuttered, “Don’t don’t… don’t you dare withdraw the

papers!”

“Ah, Bonnie will think you guys are pretty dumb, won’t she? She was about to be officially and legally

with him, yet you guys messed it up.” I teased.

Malinda became frantic, “No, you can’t withdraw the papers!”

| ignored her and walked away. Malinda tried to grab her again, but I pushed her away harshly. She fell

on her butt and looked at me with a mix of fury and helplessness

“Listen up, touch me again, and I have plenty of ways to make you pay. You know why I married Nell?

Because my background is way better than you naive kids. How about you go blame Bonnie’s birth!” I

snapped at Malinda.

Malinda stared at me with hurt and anger in her eyes but didn’t dare to retort.

Her friend helped her up, and they slunk away.

Simmons frowned, “You’re withdrawing the divorce papers?”

Stella must have told him about my divorce lawsuit.

“Yes, I want Bonnue to wear the label of the other woman for a little longer. I can’t stand it otherwise! I

really meant it.

Her friends dared to be unreasonable to my face, why should I quickly step aside for them?

Simmons wanted to say something but ended up giving me a gentle smile, “Okay, I support you.”

After hanging out for a bit, Simmons and I went our separate ways. I headed straight back to my

apartment.

The next day. I immediately withdrew the divorce papers. However, Neil somehow got wind of it.

He called me and spoke in a cold tone, “Where are you?”

“What’s up?” I was lounging on the sofa with a face mask on, munching on some fruit.

“You filed for divorce?” Neil asked.

“Yes. Didn’t you refuse to sign the divorce papers?” I sighed, “I saw the video of you saving Bonnie. I

thought I’d step aside and let you guys be together, but last night I ran into Bonnie’s two friends. What

they said really got to me.”

Neil was silent, probably waiting for me to continue

Sot withdrew the papers. Surprise!”

Neifs breathing became heavy. I guessed he was pissed, but I had no clue whether it was about my

filing for divorce or withdrawing it

I thought he’d blow his top, but he calmly said, “About my mom visiting Bonnie, I misunderstood you. I

checked it out. It had nothing to do with you.”

I didn’t know how to respond.

I’m at Sterling Estates. Come over, let’s talk. Or you can give me your address. I’ll come to you”

After hearing this, I hung up right away I didn’t want to talk to him!

But I underestimated Neil’s capabilities If he could find Bonnie in time, how could he not find me?

Around six in the evening. Neil rang my doorbell.

I was about to cook dinner and had ordered some ingredients that were supposed to be delivered.

Thinking it was the delivery, I didn’t check the monitor and opened the door.

The moment I saw Neil, I immediately slammed the door shut.

But he was faster than me, barring the door with his hand, then, with a stormy face, he dragged me

straight into the living room.

“Spill it. Why the hell did you want a divorce?” Neil had me parking my butt on the sofa, then started

grilling me from his high horse.

He probably hadn’t been sleeping well the past few days. The dark circles were clearly visible under his

eyes, and he even seemed to be in a worse mood

than usual

“Didn’t I already call off the divorce?” I retorted with righteous indignation.

Neil was amused by my response, “Where on earth did you pick up this ludicrous logic?”
