Chapter 352
I hesitated for a second, then picked up the phone, “Hello?”
“So, if I don’t reach out to you, are you planning on ghosting me for the rest of your life?” Neil’s tone
was full of bitterness, making it sound like I had done him wrong.
I paused before saying, “Actually, that’s not true. Didn’t I send you the FarHorizon Group’s information
a few days ago?”
Neil didn’t respond to that. For a moment, I thought he had hung up.
“You’re really pushing it, aren’t you?” Neil was seething. “Over a month has passed. You knewil was
injured, but all you’ve done in the past month is send me some FarHorizon Group stuff, and you’ve
barely said a word to me, let alone ask how I’m doing.”
That was all new to me. Neil was getting pissed off at me for being cold?
That version of him was both strange and familiar because it reminded me of how I used to be.
Just as I was about to respond, Bonnie’s voice drifted over, “Neil, didn’t you say you would take me out
to dinner? Let’s go. I’m hungry!”
Her voice was sweet and her tone tender. Obviously, she and Neil were close.
A chill shot through me, and though I knew it was all an act, I couldn’t ignore the pang of jealousy.
Neil abruptly hung up. Was he afraid that I would be upset to hear his reply, or was he afraid that
Bonnie would find out he had called me?
What right did I have to blame him? This was the path I chose.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtI buried my troubles deep down and took a deep breath, focusing on my work and figuring out how to
get Ethan Foster’s information from Gloria’s safe.
I was in a funk all through work. The elevator mirror showed my furrowed brow. I smoothed out my
forehead, and only when the elevator doors slowly opened did I look up.
Neil suddenly appeared before my eyes. He was wearing a simple white shirt with no tie, and a couple
of buttons were undone at the collar, revealing his attractive collarbone.
I was taken aback. What was he doing there?
“Ah!” Before I could react, Neil pulled me out of the elevator, and I involuntarily followed him.
When we reached my apartment, Neil directly punched in the password he already knew.
I had no clue what he was up to until the door swung open, and he slammed it shut, pushing me
against the wall and kissing me passionately, leaving me a little dazed.
Neil was quite aggressive. His hands were brazenly roaming under my clothes, ready to unbutton my
shirt.
“Hold on!” I finally broke free from his kiss. I looked at the dangerously attractive man before me. His
eyes were deep and sharp when he frowned. He was full of dominance.
“I don’t want to wait anymore.” Neil’s voice was husky. “We planned to try for a baby, but now we’re
being distant. Counting in months, I think I’ve been treated unfairly.”
I shoved Neil. I said to him in a sarcastic tone, “Weren’t you going to have dinner with Bonnie?”
Neil’s eyes dimmed. He caught the hand I had used to push him, pinning it above my head and
trapping me between him and the wall. He smiled, “Do you know what happened at dinner today?”
How would I know? And I didn’t care.
“She wanted to sleep with me.” When Neil said that, his voice was full of lust. His Adam’s apple
bobbed; oozing sex appeal, “But all I can think about is you. I seem to have become immune to other
women. What should I do?”
Neil’s blunt words made me blush. I didn’t know how to respond.
“Bonnie had tried to sleep with me more than once and even drugged me. But it had all failed.”
“So, you came to me to relieve some of your sexual tension? How did you know I was here?” I asked,
steeling myself.
“I found keeping in touch with Hannah quite useful, don’t you think?” Neil’s meaning was clear. Hannah
had told him.
That Hannah was so sneaky.
I silently cursed her.
Neil was clearly struggling to control his urge. He tentatively kissed me again. Seeing that I didn’t resist,
he deepened the kiss. I suddenly remembered what Stella said to me before, “Date but don’t marry.
Have a baby if you find someone with good genes.”
Were Neil’s genes good? His looks and physique were top-notch.
If Snow could cure my problem, I wouldn’t mind using Neil’s genes. That thought was risky because I
had promised my mom that once my problem was solved, I would leave Rosemont, which meant I
would want to take the baby with me. If Neil found out, the consequences could have been serious.
“Do you feel a sense of revenge?” After what seemed like ages, Neil held me in his arms, smiling wryly.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“What?” I closed my eyes to rest. My voice was tired.
“You were always pursuing me, but I was indifferent to you. Now the tables have turned. I know what
it’s like to be controlled. No matter how you treat mel can’t bring myself to give up on you. Haven’t you
ever thought of doing the same to let me experience the same feeling.”
Of course, I had thought about it, but then I stopped caring. After my rebirth, I just wanted to stay away
from Neil.
“Mm, I’ve thought about it, but it’s not enough yet.” I didn’t even open my eyes and replied lazily.
“Not enough?” Neil’s voice was instantly filled with tension. “What else do you want? Drive me
completely insane?”
His words made me chuckle. I couldn’t help but open my eyes to look at him, then reached up to poke
his Adam’s apple, teasing him, “Let’s talk when you’re as mad about me as I was about you.”
Men’s Adam’s apples are like an on-off switch for desire.
Even though we had just had a wild time, when I poked him, Neil’s face changed. And the reaction that
shouldn’t have happened ended up happening again.
I regretted it instantly. I was trying to shake him up psychologically, not physically.
A man full of lust wasn’t going bother with all that thinking. Neil let go of me, then flipped over to pin me
down as his eyes were full of danger, “Dare to tease me again, will you?”
“I won’t. Let’s just go to sleep.” I hurriedly pushed him away.
“Too late. I’m not in the mood for sleep anymore.” Neil smirked, then leaned down to kiss my lips,
followed by a heated lovemaking session, by the end of which I couldn’t even remember how I fell
asleep.
When I woke up, I checked the time, and it was already noon. Neil was bustling about in my not-so-
large kitchen, which snapped me back to reality, “Stop right there!”
